Personally I think it could have been made clearer as many people do not read such emails...  (But you can't argue it wasn't there!)

Rolled over data

So ever since I've had the sky mobile I've ALWAYS rolled any unused date when I last check I had nearly 200gb of unused data and I've just checked and I'm missing 140gb where has this gone?

@scozel1980

I have moved your post into this main thread.

So after 04/06/25 any data older than 12 months is being removed as per the new Sky Mobile Piggybank T's and C's. Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails (a copy of mine is posted in an earlier post) but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

Re: My Piggybank date has vanished

@Podestas Data expires after 12 months now. Emails were sent out last year informing customers of the change.

@Podestas

Between January and April of last year you would have been sent an email letting you know that data remains in your piggybank for 12 months now, so going forward anything that was added a year ago will be removed as what has happened here.

Re: My Piggybank date has vanished

Thanks chaps I can't remember seeing any mail on it,the thing is I get so much wanting you to buy this and that I just whip it into Delete, so that would be a costly mistake i've made, but will NOT happen again because as so as I see it building up I use it even if I just waste it.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

On this subject of piggy bank data, which I've lost over 100gb like everyone on here.

My question is simply this:

When data is rolled over from my piggy bank back to my phone?

Is this data taken from the earliest date data was added to my piggy bank?

or

From the most recent date?

If it is taken from the earliest date I have figured out a work around that will give us all an additional 12 months of accruing data.

Well that is until Sky block this loop hole and shaft us all again.

@Shillyshally  If you roll data back to the phone any unused data will return to the bank at the next billing date and remain their for a further 12 months

so in essence from the recent date it was added to the bank

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Well what you are saying is contradictory, if data remains in the bank for up to 12 months it can't be taken from the most recent?

It surely must be taken from data that has been in the bank the longest?

Otherwise each month Sky deletes off more & more data until we are eventually left with nothing, other than what has not been used from the previous month only.

In any case, shame on Sky, just another tactic to force customers to buy more data.

As soon as my sim contract is up I'm off to Virgin, same as I've done with my TV, internet & phone package. After being a loyal Sky customer for 20 years.

Hi @Shillyshally  what @SKY1992bf  is saying is if you roll all your data to your sim(s) this month then at the end of this billing period that data goes back into your piggybank and the 12 months starts from that date. If you don't roll the data to your piggybank then any data older than 12 months will be removed.

It's quite simple.  Every month data that entered the bank 13 months ago is removed.

(The initial cull last month took months 13 to 36)

Re: Piggy bank data missing

An absolute scandal. I received no notification and warning when my data was about to expire. I even renewed my plan after the 'announcement' and their operator said I could use all my piggy bank, no mention of expiry.

sky complaints admitted this was an error and offered £35 for the 500GB of data lost. **bleep**, where can you buy 500GB of data for that? An insult!

As a result I'm in the process of moving all my contracts from Sky. TV, broadband, insurance and phones.

Sky mobile has badly damaged Sky corporate's reputation with this move

@Babster

The notifications were sent out in early 2024. I received mine on 9th January last year so a lot of customers will have forgotten about it.

Your Piggybank data has always expired. It use to expire after 36 months, it now expires after 12 months.
