Sky Go on Consoles - error a18b42e2

Hi, trying to login via Sky Go on my Xbox. Seems to be a new app interface but no longer logging in. Giving me error code (a18b42e2) saying something went wrong please try again. I have deleted and re-installed but same issue. It's playing apple tv fine so no ideas. Can anyone help or shed any light!?

Hi Everyone

 

We believe this problem may be linked to Connectivity and would like you to try these steps:

  • If you have a spare Ethernet (LAN) cable, plug one end of the cable to the Xbox and the other to the router.
  • Update the Xbox to use a wired connection
  • Start the app
  • Attempt to play back Live or On-Demand content
  • If you don't have a cable to use, you can try changing the WiFi frequency on the router and restart your console, before attempting to play back the service.

What is the connection between Apple TV and Sky Go? They should be conpletely unrelated so Apple TV working means nothing

Annie... I mentioned Apple TV as a means of showing the forum that other apps are working and playing through the Xbox so it's not an Xbox issue. I assume you don't have any other useful input?

 Getting you an invite to talk to sky is not helping!

 

If you bothered looking at this forum you'd see loads of xbox users having Sky Go issues thus it is a know problem that is nothing to do with xbox, you did not need to confuse matters by mentioning Apple TV

Is it the new Sky Go app you are using as the TV from Sky one will not longer work.

Hi, I am using the new skygo app. For some reason, I have a feeling that the new Skygo app is not supported by my WiFi. Not sure, on how to work around this ?!

To get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who should be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to a few hours to be contacted via this.

trying to login into my sky go on play station

Hello trying to login to skygo on ps4 but keeps saying 'something went wrong please try again  error code a18b42e2 could anyone resolve this for me please I've uninstalled and re launched the app to no luck. Thanks

You have deleted your account so help can not be arranged for you now but make sure you are using the latest version of the app which is now Sky Go (previously called TV from Sky).

Sky Go V1.08 a18b42e2

Hi, I downloaded the new version of sky go on my PS4 and as of 21st July 2023 it says something went wrong a18b42e2. I delete the app and re-install with no luck as it won't let me re-enter my details. I am not on a vpn or wi-fi and use a lan connection. Can anyone help as I have reported to sky customer services but not sure if the community has a quicker way as paying for sky and now not able to watch it!
