Re: Will there be a Sky Glass 2?
Damp squib or what?
A couple more speakers, a new USB-A port, a slightly brighter panel and some new colours.
Same price, same 60Hz output, same 100Mbps ethernet port, same OS with a different name.... yawn.
I'll pass.

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
For those that are slightly more interested than @Ellie_TV in Sky Glass gen 2, I think the "Reviewers Guide" is interesting and to be honest, will be exactly what any influencers who get one will be regurgitating, so you can cut out the middle man/woman/person.
It also includes specs for those that care about such things.
Sky Glass gen 2 - reviewers guide
LG B6 OLED 55” | LG UP75 LCD 43” | Sky Q | Sky Q Mini | Sky Soundbox | EE Apple TV 4K | EE Full Works FTTC

What's the issue with it having a 100Mbps ethernet port? That's more than enough for any streaming service.

Sky Glass gen 2 - reviewers guide
The reviewers guide is just a regurgitation of the gen1 reviewers guide TBH.
It's all the same information because it's esssentially the same TV with a few very minor improvements. The specs are vague and identical for the most part to the gen1 model.
The Glass Air is much more intriguing...

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
@mrwwt There isn't an "upgrade" route as far as we know, you would jut order a new Gen 2 set.

There is no advertised upgrade path, you can sell gen 1 yourself and buy a fresh gen 2 of course, but any "swap every couple of years like your mobile phone" spoken about at the launch of gen 1, never materialised.
Probably because it is impractical.

Re: Will there be a Sky Glass 2?
So if I'm getting this right there's a successor to Sky Glass 2 coming with 7 speakers..
Then there's a somewhat budget friendlier Air version with 2 speakers??

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
It looks like a good overall update. Not a revolution, but tweaking what was already there. Very much an iteration, but that's fine.
I'm more interested to see what happens with the newly renamed Sky OS and what upgrades might be in store there.

Any loan agreement in place for a gen 1 must continue to be paid off by the original owner and is non transferable

I agree, it's a really decent upgrade. I've made the argument many times on this forum that Sky Glass is not intended for those who want a better TV than this. The Sky Glass (Gen 2) specs hit that perfect sweet spot. I know there will be people who go "what a let down, my Samsung is OLED 4K+++ Ultra Super X,Y,Z..."... Sky Glass, then, is not the TV for you.

Completely agree. Not everybody needs a Ferrari.
