The screen just today developed rainbow lines after 3 weeks of having it (brand new). I have never in these 3 weeks touched the screen and somehow it breaks. It may be something to do with me watching music with bass boost on on it a bit loud (about 40-65% volume) a lot in these three weeks. But surely it should be able to withstand that? Why have an option to bass boost or go so loud if it cannot stand it? Or maybe it's just poorly made.

It's just poorly made.
Glass is mass-produced using mid-price & budget components. Build quality & reliability is distinctly variable. The hardware has not been updated since launch over 2 years ago.
You can return for a full refund within 31 days of activation or ring Sky to discuss getting the unit replaced under warranty.

@p_dzonzie have you reported the issue to Sky ... better sooner than later?

The issue you may have is convincing Sky that this is the result of materials or manufacturing rather than accidental damage, which wouldn't be covered. I think they will suggest that if the LCD and/or glass laminate layers are physically broken, then that's typically from impact.
