Does your landlord allow you to install your own satellite dish? That may be an alternative depending on ease of access to the outside of your flat. If not, Sky tv isn't an option for you, I'm afraid.  You may want to consider NowTV instead.

How did you check? Unless it's a list provided by your estate management team, I know of no way to find out whether a home has Sky tv or not, unless there's a visible dish. If you're right and they do have Sky TV, there must be a communal set up of some sort despite what the manage, ent team have told you

Re: no communal tv sky accesss

so when i go to my network/internet settings a list comes up for other flats eg sky, talk etc. must be because we are so close to be in range.

Re: no communal tv sky accesss

so where do you think it would be located? inside - there are locked cupboards. or outside

That only indicates what broadband networks are nearby which has nothing to do with Sky TV, I'm afraid.

Best take it up with your management team, then. Bottom line is without a connection within your flat to the communal system, assuming there is one, Sky tv isn't an option (unless you can have you own dish, as I posted before).

sky engineer app to put aerial on 2 story flats

ongoing... MDU engineer visit today. no communal dish - although there is a large dish grey boxes etc -or other communal system. result was he said i need an aerial on roof but his ladders did not reach.

. sky called to make app for dish to be installed. no said i an aerial needed and approved by management NOT  a dish. long time later back and forth she assured me engineer visit would be to fit aerial on roof. sept 17th.  i am sceptical, think it will be fitting dish which is not approved.. does anyone know if this promised aerial installation has ever been done by SKY

if i have to will get own aerial fitted at cost but should i wait?

@glencat  If you can't have a dish, then it highly doubt Sky would fit an aerial on the roof.

@glencat Sky is a satellite tv system using a satellite dish not an aerial.

@glencat I'll add this to your previous thread. As @Daniel0210 posted, Sky TV uses a satellite dish. You can't receive Sky TV via an aerial, I'm afraid. There are lots of posts on the forum from customers who confuse a dish with an aerial.
