Re: How can we make a difference?

Get English staff who understand UK regional dialects! Due to a forthcoming change in circumstances the week after next, I've had to ring up a few times last week, the call centre Agents don't even understand what I'm saying.

In context, I'm deaf/hard of hearing and have a loud voice, so people think I'm shouting when I'm not, I also have a very broad Yorkshire accent (I'm from Sheffield, aged just turned 49 3 weeks tomorrow ago, kind of "old school" accent), the majority of non UK call centres and even some UK ones don't understand me and it seriously winds me up.

Re: How can we make a difference?

For further context, I'm also formally diagnosed (23.10.1999) with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

@Laing1 No good, the call centres don't work on a Sunday.

Re: How can we make a difference?

2 years later and I'm in an identical situation with my elderly father. Sky don't care clearly. Give people with dementia (or in his case stroke victims) a chance. He pays enough..

Re: How can we make a difference?

I have asked and asked for the old Sky remote style to be made again please.

ffor elderly, Parkinson's or cerebral palsy for example, they need those larger remotes like for the old Sky Plus. With the silicone hand strap you can slide your hand through.
the buttons we're bigger and easier to hit.
my son can't hold the small slippery ones or speak into it as he has a stammer.

he has Sky Q but is using an old Sky plus remote with the back off the old accessibility remotes from ten days ears ago!

come on, let's get things better for disabled people not withdraw them!

Re: How can we make a difference?

What ever has happened to the old Accessibility line in Scotland?
now it's option this and that just like the normal line. - no help at all.

again, this seems like further cut backs for disabled people who could use a little bit of compassion and understanding.

@Angel32 the Sky Q accessibility remote appears still to be available: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/accessibility-remotes

See the contact links at the bottom to request one.

Re: How can we make a difference?

I just had one of those from Sky - called them, asked for one and it arrived after a few days so good service there.

Re: How can we make a difference?

No that's just the old Sky plus style with slight bumps on the back of it. Not the silicone hand strap grip.

Re: How can we make a difference?

You won't have got one old Sky Plus style with the silicone strap because they don't provide them and haven't got a few years. I'm guessing yours just has bumps on the back supposedly to stop you loosing your grip.

Re: How can we make a difference?

I have tried to phone Accessibility today - got through to Technical Team who transferred me ..... to Technical Team!!!  Then I got cut off.  I dialled again three more times but got cut off each time.  I therefore completed a complaint form hoping for a call back.  I also chatted to online assistant.  Accessibility Team is not so accessible.

Re: How can we make a difference?

Thanks for trying to help Mike but I called them again and they confirmed the 'Accessibility' remote for SqyQ is basically the Sky Plus remote with bumps on the casing!
that's not the old accessible remote. The older ones had a silicone rigid handle you can pop your hand through.

Re: How can we make a difference?

You are referring to the simple older Sky Plus style remotes which have bigger buttons but they don't have the silicone ridged grip handle. Only shallow bumps. That doesn't stop me dropping it.
