Sky sports saying need subscription

I'm trying to watch the new F1 season and I can't watch the special Channels via the app such as onboards and timings. I have paid for the channel and never had any other issues but now it's saying I need to be a sky subscriber to watch this content.

I was about to make a post to say exactly the same thing, so you're not alone. I also noted that the red button on the Sky Sports F1 HD channel (using Sky+) wasn't available so I had no way to access the the extra content (timing screen, onboards, team radio etc) on there either.

 

I hope it's resolved in time for FP2 in a couple of hours but I suspect everyone will still be asleep at sky so it will be the same. ☹️

Well, as expected, still the same problem "Subscription required". Looks like a call to customer support will be needed when it opens later on.

In case anyone else is interested, or is suffering the same problem, I've just been on the phone to customer support for 1:15, and spoke to various people in that time.

 

Long story short, after complaining, several times, they persuaded me the quickest and easiest way to resolve the issue was to move me to a new package lineup. This gives me more than I really need, and involves a new contract, but, with various offers etc applied, I've ended up paying less than I was before. Not the first time that's happened.

 

Fingers crossed that resolves things, or I'm going to end up with another long phone call to Sky!

@Kerrydoughty1 you do only subscribe to the Sky Sports F1 pack and not the full sports pack? Also which Sky TV service do you have? (Sky Q, Sky Glass or Sky Stream)?

So you can watch the channel via your Sky+ box without any issues.

Yes! And I can even watch the sky sports f1 tab on the picture above just nothing else!

@Kerrydoughty1  That's the same setup as I've got, and from what was said during my long call, they were suggesting the problem was with the standalone F1 package bit (that is no longer available), which is why, to fix it, they replaced that with the full sky sports package instead (along with some other bits to at least match what I had before).

To get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who should be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to a few hours to be contacted via this.


This link explains how this works so you will need to respond to the chat bubble at the bottom of the page when it appears by typing it it to start the chat:

When the chat bubble does appear you will need to respond to it as soon as you can or it will be closed if there is no response within 48 hours. To start the conversation just type in it.

Unable to watch F1 onboards in sky sports app

Hi I have an active sky TV and sky sports f1 subscription. However in the sky sports app on both my mobile and my tablet during live sessions only the main feed works. When I click on the tracker feed or any of the onboards it says I need a sky subscription to watch these. I've even contacted customer services to check the subscription packages, all OK. Tried logging out and back in, uninstalled the app and reinstalled, logged back in. Still the same. Considering I pay the subscription precisely to have access to the extra feeds this is incredibly frustrating Any help? Many thanks

Cant get onboards on SkySports app

I'm getting 'you need to subscribe' when I try & access the driver onboards from the SkySports app. I believe other users are having the same problem. Urgent help needed please!

I assume you are subscribed to Sky Sports, via Sky and not a service like Now, is that a correct assumption?
