Since this seems to be happening to loads of customers, you would think that SkyYahoo would be giving this top priority  AND to have this issue highlighted on their help chat lines with regular updates, o customers know what's happening.

I am not a happy Easter Bunny at all.

I spent at least 5 hours trying to discuss the matter with three different operators. Eventually, I sent a complaint to the Accessiblity team (I have disabilities), and to the Leadership Team. I can now, at last, access my emails, but like you, I am losing patience with Sky, after being a loyal customer for nearly 30 years!

Having had a problem with 2 factor authentication, last week, I made an official complaint. Whilst waiting for a response, the emails actually resumed and I deleted my 2 factor (as I couldn't remember my recovery code), and reinstated it, making a note of the new recovery code. Everything has been working well for a couple of days, but now the emails (with the 2 factor authentication code) are not being received again! Is this the same for anyone else? I have used the new recovery code, but I can't go any further, as I am not getting any codes to clarify my actions. This is so frustrating. Last time I spent 4-5 hours on Live chat! Ironically, a complaint advisor called me this morning, and I told him that everything was now fine!!!

If you have used the recovery code, you should have access to your emails without needing anymore codes, so what codes are you now not getting?

Hi sorry. I wasn't very clear. Yes, I can get in by using my recovery code, but when I try to set up the 2 factor again (from new), it isn't sending my mobile a code to verify. I think that I will leave things as they are for a few days, as they are obviously still having problems. Thank you for your prompt response.

@MKD147 very sensible. Sky haven't yet confirmed that the Verification Code problem has been fixed. We should be able to confirm here in due course.

Hello,

I'm also not receiving the SMS code to my fairly new iphone 17 on Vodaphone.

For those that are receiving the code, does such a code remain valid for several days or weeks because I login daily via a Bookmark on my pc and never remember receiving a code?

All was ok until 2nd April.

I have one or two Sky 6 digit codes in my SMS history (for other Sky services) but no codes since 5th March. I will have signed into my email countless times since then with no SMS code.

I'm also adamant that I never even saw a mail confirming "2 step verification" and a "Recovery code". I am a bit "**bleep**" about things like that and would've taken a screenshot at the very least.

@Steve+Delahaye a Verification Code expires after 10 minutes.

 

Sky do send an email confirming you've set up 2 step verification,  but the Recovery Code isn't sent to you either by SMS message or by email.

In which case, every time I had logged into email until 2nd April last week (virtually every day for years!), a Verification Code had never been requested or then sent via SMS.

I am 100% sure of this.

Something has changed - it seems like the "2 step verfication" could have only started for me on 2nd April and no SMS has been received since.

NB - My mobile number has not changed for more than 20 years.

 

I guess I just sit and wait for Sky to get their act together whilst I consider changing my email to another provider.

Afternoon All,

 

I have read the post marked as 'Answered' and understand that Sky are aware of the issue regarding the 2FA texts not being recieved. Hopefully the more people they are aware of having an issue, the higher priority they will give to getting it fixed. 

I really don't like not having 2FA on my emails and hope they do indeed sort this issue out quickly.

 

I am a little sad there hasn't been, from what I am aware of, any communication from Sky to acknowledge this issue and therefore I am wondering if there will be any communication once it is resolved. In the mean time I will bookmark this thread and hope some information is posted once a fix is found.

@ben6704 I'm sure Sky will post here again once the problem is fixed. The Superusers will be separately advised in closed forum and will no doubt post an update here too. 

 

While I understand your reluctance to be without 2FA, you could as a temporary measure use your Recovery Code to gain access to your email pending a fix.
