I have a domain name with an email address and recently my sky email has stopped receiving any emails from the domain address - sending email to the domain address is fine.
My wife has yahoo email and is now not receiving email from my domain address either so I suspect that it may be Yahoo that is blocking it for some reason. If this is the case, how do I rectify this, is it through Yahoo or Sky?

I use generally use outlook and also the apple email app on my iphone - is it just changing the outgoing smtp server settings to skys for my sky email or would I be using yahoos?
If you ask your provider they should be able to confirm if the email was sent O.K. They could also deny/confirm if there is a general problem with Yahoo addresses.
No, using the Sky/Yahoo SMTP server server is not as simple as just changing the SMTP server in the client/app
Firstly you need to register your 3rd party address with the Sky server. You do that by logging into your Sky email account and going to Settings - More settings - Mailboxes.
There you should find an option to add a "Send only" address.
Once you add your address, and confirm it, you can then use then Sky SMTP server. (smtp.tools.sky .com or smtp.mail.yahoo.com)
But, it will need to be authenticated with your Sky email address, and a generated password. (not you usual Sky password)
You can generate the password here: https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps
Said it was fiddly.
Do let us know how you get on.

I'm not sure either will be able to help and Sky particular will not as Yahoo run the service. Have you checked that the emails are not in the spam/trash/junks folders on your Sky email accounts and that there are no filters that have been setup that are directing these emails elsewhere.

Yes I have checked all those and nothing - the fact my wifes yahoo email is not receiving any emails from my domain address either suggests it could be being blocked by yahoo itself for some reason - its only used as a personal email address and not for a business etc so I can't understand why that would be though. I am receiving any email send from a yahoo email but its an issue as replies are not then getting received.

Who supplies the SMTP server you are using, and have you reported the problem to them?
If they are unable to help, I would consider reconfiguring your email client/app to use the Sky SMTP servers.
It can be a bit fiddly to set up (it requires adding your domain email as a "send-only" address) but we should be able to provide advice on how to do it.

I've not update to iOS 18 as yet, however following the previous advice and changing the stmp to Sky seems to have resolved the issue and my emails are now being allowed through to yahoo addresses 😎

Thanks - I don't seem to have a 'send only' option in my Sky email settings. However just changing the outgoing SMTP server to Skys in the email app along with the generated password seems to have sorted it and now emails sent to Yahoo emails are now getting through.
Thank you all for your support with this 👍

I'm surprised about that, it must be because the generated password proves you are authenticated.
Just for info, this is where the "send only" addresses are set up.

It's possible that without the "send only" address being set up, they may be being shown as from your Sky address.
The "send only" address is so that the "from" address is allowed through.

Sky:Yahoo 24.10.24
Don't ask me anything too technical . I just happened to know how it was done. I realised that after the Apple update that I was not receiving and Sky emails but was receiving messages on a Gmail account. Checked with the Yahoo server and there are a number of emails being retained but they had not opened on my iPhone
i initially deleted the existing Yahoo:Sky account, then created a new Sky account.

Wife has just checked the one I sent to her yahoo email and it shows its from my domain email so all good.
Your screenshot of your Sky email account page looks different to mine......I opened mine through safari on my phone rather than a PC so wondering if thats why?

Ah yes, you will only get a subset of the settings, unless you use a desktop browser, or set the mobile browser to "desktop mode". but then everything will be very small.
Glad, but surprised, to hear the correct "from" address is being used.
