As of today I can no longer access sky emails from my Samsung Android phone, using the Samsuing app, nothing has changed on the phone. Using web mail and Thunderbird are fine.
I see a few people have similar issues today, I would guess some server settings have been changed, any one know to what ?
Thanks

Sky email not working on apple devices Sept 2025
Is anyone else having issues with receiving sky emails on apple devices? As of the 02 September all my family are suddenly receiving the same error messages "Cannot get Mail the mail server imap.tools.sky.com is not responding."
We have not changed any settings.
I can log in my account via the internet browser and all works okay. I have reset the specific email password for the apple device and also checked the server port protocols, but the error message still persists.
Emails can still be sent, just not received.

Re: Sky email not working on apple devices Sept 2025
@Stephen03092025 welcome to this customer Community 🙂
Are you using Apple's Mail app? There have been numerous issues reported with the app over many months. Typically the app stops collecting emails for a day or so and then resumes without any action being taken. It doesn't appear to be a Sky issue,. as the online browser service continues to work ok, as you've discovered.
You could try contacting Apple about it if you have the time and energy, but if it were me, I'd just sit tight for a few days and it will probably start working again.

Re: Sky email not working on apple devices Sept 2025
I have as of today - Mail can't verify the identity of the server "imap.tools.sky.com". The certificate for this server is invalid.
The certificate is showing as "Sectigo Public Server Authentication CA OV R36" which expires on 2nd September 2026.. not sure if this has something to do with it.
Does anyone know if this certificate is trusted?

Re: Change of email settings today ?
Yes something like 'server rejected security certificate'.

Sky email account sky server not trusted map.tools.sky.com Issued by Sectigo Public
Tried to open my Sky email mailbox on my Apple Laptop all day no luck unless I go into Sky and search mail and view that way. The message on my laptop saysThe certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server a server pretending to be imap.tools.sky.com which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to server any way. Then it show in a box Sectigo Public Server Authenticatioon then a certifacte with certificate not trusted.
I didn't try I went to Sky opened my emails there then checked ino and it said that Sky had updated its app. I've chanaged my password confirmed it is me after receiving an email to my yahoo account. Tried to load the Sky box again same thing happens. My Iphone is still receiving my sky account emails. I'm not sure what happening. Checked on here and read a couple of others. If Sky had a problem surely my iphone wouldn't have the emails.

Re: Change of email settings today ?
Somehow, and I don't understand this at all, the server settings were changed overnight. My Android phone showed last sync update at 01:25 this morning.
I got the same server error message on my phone. Checked the server settings, all as I expected. However, on my laptop and, on my wifes desktop, the server settings had been changed.
They are as follows:
Incoming:
Outgoing:
Hope this helps everyone. The big question has to be, how did this happen?

Re: Change of email settings today ?
Same here. Both mine and my wife's identical phone stopped receiving emails via Samsung email app today. Error says security certificate not trusted.
