Re: Change of email settings today ?
What I've managed to do today and it's working currently is to delete my Sky (Yahoo) internet account then add back on, you just need username and password.
system settings / internet accounts
Hope you have success.

@carlisleavenue I've added your post to an existing thread on the subject. See the post marked as 'Answer' for a workaround.

Re: error message on Yahoo account- imap.tools.sky.com not trusted
@carlisleavenue wrote:error message comes up when I open my phone- imap.tools.sky.com is not trusted
I've tried all the usual reset0 log off- shut down etc
Is you phone Android or iOS?
I've just had the same error from Thunderbird, and it showed this certificate:
I was using the Sky servers and a generated password, I tried changing it to OAuth2 but was told the Sky server doesn't have that capability,so I changed to the Yahoo server (imap.mail.yahoo.com) and OAuth2 and after entering my email and password to the OAuth challenge was able to access the mails again.
It will also need the SMTP setting changing to OAuth2 and the server to smtp.mail.yahoo.com or it won't send.

Re: Sky email not working on apple devices Sept 2025
I had the same issue and done this to resolve my issue....
Open the mail app
click on mail in the top left hand of the screen
select settings
under General make sure it says under Default mail reader MAIL and NOT MICROSOFT OUTLOOK
This appeared to be the issue on my IMac that happened overnight?
Changed to mail and it worked fine.

Re: Change of email settings and server certificate errors today ?
This worked for me.
Remove the offending email account from Mail.
go to LOGIN.YAHOO.COM
Sign in to your SKY account.
Hover over your sign in Badge and click MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT.
Click MAYBE LATER if your offered two stage security.
Click SECURITY
Scroll down to EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS and click APP PASSWORDS
Click CREATE PASSWORD.
Fill in APP NAME, i.e. Mail, and click CREATE PASSWORD
Copy the generated password and use it as the password to add your SKY email account back into Mail.
You only use this password during the setup.
You use your normal email password after this.
Voila! (hopefully)

imap.tools.sky.com
I have been receiving emails straight to inbox with no problem - a few day ago I received a notice that "MAIL CAN'T VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF THE SERVER 'IMAP.TOOLS.SKY.COM'
It goes on to say the certificate for this server is invalid and that I might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be IMAP.TOOLS.SKY.COM' and could put my confidential information at risk. I declined to connect to the server
where do I go to rectify this?
