Cannot send Sky emails on my MacBook Pro due to iCloud

I was able until two weeks ago to send emails from my MacBook Pro with no problems.  Then it popped up asking me to sign into iCloud account for '' ", not using my iCloud name and no user between the ". When I enter my Apple password or iCloud password, it is saying it is incorrect.  I have looked at settings and cannot see what the problem is.

As you are receiving your emails on the app, it's only the SMTP settings that you need to check.

This may help:

Verify an email account’s outgoing server in Mail on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

If the settings are not as supplied by @caesarome,  let us know what you have.

First a couple of questions.

How are you viewing/sending email on your Macbook? Apple's email app or something else? Are you getting all your emails?

Can you send via the online Sky email? https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email

Re: Cannot send Sky emails on my MacBook Pro due to iCloud

Hello and thank you for getting back to me.  I am recieving all my emails via Mail (blue box, white envelope).  I just cannot send emails via this app, but it appears to be a Cloud problem.  My Cloud is not working so well either. I tried via the link you sent and logged in and could send emails that way, so thank you for that.  I can send emails still on my phone and iPad, just not my Mac.  At least I have a solution thanks to you, but would like to sort the Mail / Cloud problem too.

What email account are you trying to access via the Mail app, if it is your Sky one then you need to be using the Sky email account username and password and not icloud so if you are trying to set it up select Yahoo and use these settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes
