Hi
Thank you for the time in responding
I have tried everything and I cannot get past the outlook set up window!!!
I'm either not doing soemthing right or missing something as was never this hard before.
I can't find anything else on this that is different to what i am doing or have done.
All ports etc are changed
All servers are changed from yahoo to sky and still wont work.
Process is
Add new email address
input email address to be added
Change servers and ports to tools.sky
input password - or in this case the 16 digit 2 factor code
Still doesn't recognise it
Put in my password
Still wont have it
Any suggestions welcome
Thank you

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThere shouldn't be a problem with Outlook, as long as you are using a generated password.
What version of Outlook are you using? Is it from Microsoft 365 or an earlier one?
You have unticked the SPA?
As you say it is your wife's email you are trying to install, are you generating the password for the correct account, i.e. hers not yours.
The best way to be sure is to log in here: https://www.sky.com/myaccount/my-details and scroll down to Sky Yahoo Mail access, and generate it from the link there.

I have exactly the same problem as Millwall7 from July post.
Because I was having difficulty with sending emails from the 2016 version of Outlook, the sky helper online advised me to remove my account and then add it. It will not let me! I have tried the two factor authentication method with the generated Sky password - all to no avail.
After a little investigation it would appear that Sky is trying to force users onto the cloud based 'New' Outlook.
I don't really understand why Sky/Yahoo would care about which Microsoft Outlook one uses, unless it's just to do with the adverts. You have to pay to remove them!
The 'new' Outlook does not have the functionality of the 2016 version, no auto forwarding or rules.
So I'll have to change from Sky for emails or remove the link to Sky altogether and create my own domain.

What investigation is that? I don't believe it to be the case.
I use Outlook 2019 to manage my Sky Yahoo Mail without problem, using an app password without 2 factor authentication (though I don't think the latter makes any difference). There are numerous posts here from others using earlier versions of Outlook.
There's a problem with your setup somewhere.

I'm glad to hear that - I have just spoken to a Sky email helper on the phone, who thinks it's a problem with Yahoo! So I'll try them!!

Seriously, that will be a waste of time. If you did get to contact Yahoo. they will just send you back to Sky.
And it is Microsoft trying to push the "New Outlook" not Sky.
If you could describe your problem in a little more detail, I'm sure we could help you get it working.

You're right - there is no way of talking to anyone from Yahoo without paying for it!!
Here's the problem.
1. In October when in Outlook 2016 app - I noticed the little toggle - 'try the new Outlook', so I did. However, I wasn't impressed at all and parked the New Outlook app., continuing to use the 2016 version.
2. I then had an issue with sending emails from that app. I spoke to Sky who advised me to remove my sky.com email account and then add it again.
3. Unfortunately I found that I cannot add it. I have followed all the correct instructions and got nowhere.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreFrom the pictures you have posted, the details look correct, so the assumption would be that the password is incorrect.
It has to be a generated password, and it has to be generated from the correct Sky account, so have you more than one account, and are you copy/pasting the password from the generator?
