Yes, I can access it through both the Sky site and the Yahoo site. I tried adding it into my husband's 'side' on the computer - he uses Outlook too. And it still failed with the same message. It's odd that it seems to be mixed up with gmail account.
I am in Hampshire - so my location in relation to yours is not viable I'm afraid. Finding local domestic IT assistance is not easy.

Also, the sky email account does show in the data files in the control panel, together with gmail account and icloud account.

It's no wonder I'm confused. 😖

So in relation to the problem outlined in the discussion below - unable to add sky/yahoo mail to Old Outlook - it has been suggested that I auto forward those emails to my gmail account (which it does accept). Problem - How to do that in Outlook or on the Sky/Yahoo email website? There is nowhere? Help?

Correct, the option to auto forward was removed some time ago.
The alternative is to collect the emails from the Sky account using POP.

Hi jayach@
So I tried what you said and I'm afraid it will not work. There is obviously something very odd going on with sky/yahoo and Outlook. So no further forward I'm afraid.

I don't have permissions to delete pictures, I wonder if @caesarome or @Mark39 could do it for us.

@jayach was yours an image you had previously used? I can't find it for the date of your post.
Edited to add: took me a couple of minutes to find the email address. Not surprised it was missed before!
Further edit: no worries - found and removed it.

Are you definately setting it up under "check email from other accounts" and have you checked SSL?
It will also need to use a generated password.

In getting Gmail to collect your Sky email, Outlook has nothing to do with it.

Thanks @Mark39, yes it was an image I used quite a while ago. Didn't notice at the time, and presumably neither did anyone else, as I've not had any strange emails to that address.
