2 Step verification - not receiving the code on my phone

I can't access my sky emails on my laptop. I get asked to input the 2 step verificxation code but I'm not getting a code sent to my phone. I also don't have a recovery code. I've spoken to 4 people at Sky but none of them have been able to help, other than telling me to contact Yahoo. I've done this and they say it's for Sky to sort out. Can anyone help, please? I can login to mail fine on my phone and tablet, as I don't get asked for the 2 step code.

When you set this up there was a box you had to tick to go onto the next page to confirm that you had made a note of your recovery code so as you did not have to do this you will have to try again with Sky Support and as you are finding out a number of them do wrongly tell you to go to Yahoo who can not help as it is a Sky email account.

@fouesnant without the Recovery Code, I'm afraid you'll have to persevere with Sky. They can turn off 2 step verification for you but it seems that some advisers aren't well versed in Sky Talk procedures.

 

There's absolutely no point speaking to Yahoo, as ypu've discovered. They can't help with Sky Yahoo Mail.

Thanks for the replies. I have now spoken to 4 people at Sky and none of them have been able to remove the 2 step verification requirement. As far as I'm aware I never requested this and therefore I don't have a recovery code

You are not the only person to say they didn't set up 2FA, but from what we know of the system, it seems unlikely to be possible for that to happen.

Sky can certainly remove the 2FA, if it is setup on your account, and people have reported on here that it is happening pretty quickly once they get it requested.

It seems the agents on the phone can't actually do the removal, they have to put in a request on your behalf, so if they don't know how to do that ask them to pass you to their superior.
