@leon25 one of the main causes of packet loss is wifi interference which is why keen gamers use an ethernet connection rather than wifi. Using a booster and even connecting via ethernet from the booster doesn't eliminate the WiFi jump from the hub.

Assuming that is impractical to useca cable from the hub to your device then restarting your Sky hub will find the best wifi channel nesr the hub but that may not be the best near your hub. Downloading an app like Wifi Analyzer onto an Android phone will show you all of the wifi network signals within range with their channel and signal strength. You will get interference if your hub is using the same or adajacent wifi channel with another network. You can manually change the channel your hub uses by following these instructions https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-change-your-Sky-wireless-channel/ba-p/2687733

Re: packet loss

I have the exact same problem with the ping, lagging constantly and puts my grandson off gaming. I've had a lot of problems with my sky and emailed a lovely lady (High up in Sky), she was able to sort out all my problems in one day and kept to her word by calling me back and kept updating me.
I will be emailing her again as it was agreed an amount of money for my sky package but then I saw that this months sky DD had risen, I will also mention about the ping as my grandson is homeschooled and needs a good internet connection everyday.
if you think you can help me prior to contacting the lady please do so. I've rebooted the internet box as well as the sky boxes as our sky keeps going off especially the extra 2 boxes in bedrooms.

Sky doesn't offer fixed cost broadband: the monthly amount is subject to both an annual increase and reversion to list price at the end of the discounted minimum term.

It's very difficult to see how ping speed is relevant to online education.
