Hi.... keep having slow speed broad band around 39mb/s in house, some days its up around 61mb/s which is what the min garentee is, but mostly speed under, Im on sky fibre max ..Ive turned sky box off and noticed the speed increases up to 60 plus, but when powerd back up it drops, Ive moved router etc etc but no change, using speed check at sky site it says 70mb/s but thats not what i get on my PC speed checker at around 2m away from router ....so how can you prove this if sky say one thing and PC speed checker says another ...Any help please

@Geeza3456 Have you tried testing the speed via ethernet? You also mentioned it got better when you turned off the sky q box which can indicate the mesh network that Q sets up is causing a drop in speed. How many Q tv boxes do you have?

Not sure how to check via ethernet tbh..? I just use internet speed checkers , just did it an got 46mb/s...An just one Q box with router sitting on top of it

@Geeza3456 Move the router off the top of the Q tv box and retest.

@Geeza3456 Becuase if the router is right on top of the box both devices are giving out radio waves/WiFi and that close together could cause interference.

As @bemak187 says, and also Q television boxes are pretty much at the upper end of their reasonable thermal range without having another heat-producing device sitting on top of them...

The hub and sky q box need to be hardwired if they're so close together and then the access point turned off, chances are your pc is connecting to the sky q box rather than the hub. Put one end of an Ethernet cable into the sky q box and the other end into the hub.
Then follow these steps
On your sky remote
press home
scroll to settings
press 0 0 1 select ( middle button )
scroll to network
scroll right to 2.4ghz
press select, will change to off
scroll down to 5ghz,
press select, will change to off
scroll down to confirm
press select, will save settings
press home
