Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAre these drops in your connection happening often? You need to report them if the broadband test is not showing an issue on the line, this can happen. So that Sky can do further tests to determine what the issue is that is causing the line to disconnect.

Yes ... thats my issue, Sky site and test says 70mb/s, but thats them, but inan around my house it is not, its more like 40/50mb/s at PC within 2m of router ..whos or what is telling the truth ???????

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen you run the Sky broadband test, you are testing the speed coming to the router. When you use any other test, that is testing to thedevice you are using.
Now as an example, I am on an 65 down 20 up connection. I just tested my own connection using the Netflix speed test and it told me I was getting 55Mb and this is on a wired connection.
You are never going to get the full speed it says on the Sky broadband test, there is always a percentage that is lost in overheads.

My problem is when I tested it a few month back i got on same speed test 61/65 Mb/s at PC, that was when I first got the Q box installed and upgraded to fibre max, like I say a few month back, but it has slowed over time with nothing added to system, something is not correct as how can I have 60 plus then down to 40 for no reason yet Sky say garentee min 60 mb/s, yes I did at first, but now not ??? ...And nothing can be proven as sky say 70 mb/s on there site, and I say actual is 40mb/s and everyone saying yep thats the way it is ...I think the garentee of min 60 mb/s is rubbish no way to prove it..

Well sky garentee me for my fee..min 60mb/s otherwise a refund is offered for days below ... yet i cant prove it that im well below, at 40mb/s ish, on mySky site there broadband checker says 70mb/s is being deliverd every day perfect ...but its not what im seeing here theres a con somewhere I feel, there was 61mb/s at first and now im at 40mb/s...So whats changed ..nothing this end ...I understand some loss but if im getting sent 70mb/s and I got 60mb/s at PC theres the 10mb/s loss which I can accept, and was happy, but now @ 40mb/s this is beyond @ 30mb/s down...And im stuck with them for 18months and nothing can be done
