WiFi not connecting after activation
Activation text received today.
hub plugged in and connected to master socket as shown.
broadband orange light is on and cannot connect.
have tried resetting, master reset, different cables to connect.
cannot get through to an actual person, connection tests shows issue with connection of hub.
Supposed to be working from home today, no engineer available for another week!
someone please help before I chuck it out of the window!

@CJ94 Although you have received the activation text it can still as sky say take up to midnight, if you had a previous supplier and router have you tried it back on to see if that connection is still up.

ok, thanks, maybe that's what it is then.
yes, they disconnected at midnight unfortunately.

@CJ94 It is normally a smooth change over, text received, swap router's, let the sky router connect, do it's FW update and reboot its self then good to go, but sometimes OR are involved and have to make some changes, once it gets through all of this then you are good to go, problems can appear and only SKY/OR can sort that out.

@CJ94 OR is indeed Openreach who control the network. with fttc connection there is normally nothing they need to do dependent on what was previous for your connection, but mistakes and errors can be made both OR/SKY side of things, this becomes a faild activation and if it does happen then it will be for Sky to organise with OR depending on what has gone wrong.

Still not working. I've booked an engineer but there is a whole week's wait!
Really not convenient when you work from home, luckily it's bank holiday!

Let me know if you find a resolution and I'll do the same.
I've had to book an engineer but it's a weeks wait! Really not ideal as I work from home!

@CJ94 the bank holiday explains the delay as Openreach only work on domestic lines on working days.

@CJ94 The OR master socket, is it the type with a 5C on it, and you are plugged into the left hand connector? As you do not say which sky router that you have if it is the Black SR203 then also into the Purple connection at the rear of it. The original router did you also have it cabled in the exact same way, if using the ADSL filter supplied with some units was it the sky one or an original.

The main switch just has one socket.
It was previously connected via micro filter, I've tried connecting both ways, via the grey cable with the purple connection and also using the micro filter.
it's just the standard black sky router (super fast)
the previous hub was a standard talktalk one.
I've tried resetting it at the back, turning off at the mains etc, broadband light just stays orange

@CJ94 You are 100% sure that it is the Master socket, there are NO other sockets in the house and that is the direct landline feed from OR to that socket?
Take a picture and attach with the camera icon, YOU need the filter with the connection that you describe...

@CJ94 if you service has not connecting call Sky to check Openreach completed the job as on occasions they hit a xnag. The texts apoear to be sent shen the job is assigned not completed.
