@Sarah424 several possible causes the first being the laptop is being used in an area of your home with poor wifi signal so you need a booster. However if other devices work well in the same area then it is probably an issue with the laptop's wifi card possibly the internal aerial has become dicsconnected. If its an older machine consider buying a USB WiFi adapter which are not expensive.
Beyond that things get more complicated but try downloading an app called WiFi Sweetspots which shows the WiFi speed to the hub in realtime enabling to see the best placecto usecthe laptop.
