Testing broadband speed

I have a wired connection for broadband. The speed up and down could be better  (fibre is not available). My location is New Ollerton.   The speed checker shows a warning that the connection is through a cellular network and the user may be liable for extra costs.

I have three browsers, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Avast Secure Browser.  Avast has a VPN function which is used for  financial transactions. I used Avast One to do a complete scan for malware on Friday 18th Nov.

regards Phil

Re: Testing broadband speed

Case closed, I got shut of the speed checker, carried out a full virus scan with no problems found. Installed OOKLA speed checker without any problems. Thank you to Mark for his help.

Re: Testing broadband speed

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your reply. I used the test routines you suggested. Everything tested appears in working order.BBand02.png

Is there any work on external apparatus that could be causing problems ?

regards Phil
