Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

It has been up for 57hrs now, ill assume whatever it was is fixed now.  It might have been the factory reset, it might have been something on skys side, who knows.  I just dont understand why it would try to download a firmware update that doesnt exist lol. next time it breaks ill put in for a newer hub.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

Mine has settled down to normal routine stuff in the logs now ....no more firmware downloads or reboots.

Its still on the older firmware though, but works fine.

I wonder what the upgrade gives it. ?

On a side note, when all this was going on...I removed the Sky hub and connected the WAN port of my TP-link router directly to the FTTP socket. It picked up the 900Mb feed immediately and worked fine.....so if it wasnt for my SkyQ ( and the associated stability the SKy hub gives this ) , I could just ditch the Sky Hub and connect the TP-link router directly to the FTTP .

Choices ....choices 🙂

Re: Sky Hub software update 5 nights in a row

We have just joined and this update each night is disconnecting the car charger.... not good when I work far away from home and rely on the charge overnight 😕 how can I change to manual rather than updating every night?

Re: Sky Hub software update 5 nights in a row

@Ddoult Number one, you should not be getting an update every night, so what makes you think that is happening and the cause off the charger going offline! FW updates to the hub do have a tendency to be in the early hours off the morning, once completed and the hub is rebooted then that is it, one shot done and dusted, although there was an issue a couple off months ago and sky messed up on FW update and the Hubs were flipping daily they stopped that, corrected what was wrong and not even sure if the carried on but would think they did after that point!

If you do suspect so what actual hub are you using from sky! Link below to the hubs if you are not sure!
