Model SR203
Firmware Version 7.04.0100.R
DSL Firmware Version A2pvfbH043p1.d26u
Switched to Sky fibre 16 June 2025, my router is rebooting overnight and my browser says the router is doing a firmware upgrade however the router is already at the most current firmware version. How do I make it stop trying to upgrade when it is already at the latest version?
Thanks.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@Swift1 Not 100% that what you have is the latest, sky are a little bit laxed in updating the info page that they have, so unless someone post's different then there may be an update being pushed out failing on the hub and re trying over every night! No stopping the process unfortunatley it's all under the control off sky!

Re: Connection Lost every night at 2am
I have also had this problem for 3 nights around 2AM - 2 nights in a row it was "firmware update" which didn't do anthing other than cut the internet off for 5-10 minutes and then again it just dropped for no reason again tonight.

Sky hub instability
Hi All
got FTTP installed over a month ago and its been great. Rock solid with the SR203 sky hub. ( I prefer this to the new max hub becuase it works better with SkyQ )
However, I have noticed over the past few days that it has been dropping service in the middle of the night ...usually around 2am ish.
This isnt a prob for us ( asleep !) but this morning when we came to put our firestick on for the kids...the internet was down.
I checked the lights ...the FTTP box was all green but the Sky hub didnt have its WAN or wifi lights on . I left it for a few mins and nothing, so powered off and back on. It now works.
Anyone know if SKY HQ are messing around with firmware updates etc over the last few days ?

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@Swift1 I agree something weird is going on. My SR203 currently seems to be switching between firmware versions 7.04.0100.R and 7.04.0204.R on various days. At least the reboots are at 1am!

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@hgwv Sure looks like an FW update push to a later version, wonder if there is an oops in it and sky cannot retract it back or there is a failure in the reporting side, or they are just trying to over write and get back to the previous, do keep the Forum informed though!
May just have to get the SR203 out off it's box and throw it on, wife won't be to happy about that though, big issue!!!

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@JimM1 It's funny, every time I reboot the router it downloads a either firmware 0100 or 0204, to be installed at 1am.
If I then reboot manually it installs the firmware and then immediately downloads the other firmware version again.
This loop wouldn't be so serious as it only would reboot once every night at 1am, except the other night at 1am it started switching between the two firmware versions continuously over the course of an hour!
So in summary, the firmware installation succeeds, it's just the system doesn't know which is meant to be the newest and keeps flapping between the two.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@hgwv Got it, call to sky Tech support for that one, ask the serious question off why and what is going on, you have a good handle to what is happening, sounds like something missing on the latest FW to indicate it is in, installed and good!!!
Wife has said NO, your not playing swap's at present, so i am out, cannot sleep with the one eye open just not worth it!

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@hgwv What is Sky saying if you have called in for it to be looked into. Sounds like the firmware updated is borked somehow and is now stuck in a loop.
If you have found this solution helpful please tick this as the answer.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@JimM1 I agree with @Highlinder that the update has got borked. It maybe worth doing a factory reset but beyond that its something Sky have to sort from their end.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight
@Chrisee factory reset makes no difference. I hope you can prod someone at Sky about this, because I really hate talking about technical issues to call staff these days.
