Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping

I'm having the exact same problem. I have recently changed from EE to Sky Fibre 300. I only did this 12 days ago and although the broadband connection hasn't changed from the beginning, it has been abysmal for the past couple of days. Wifi constantly disconnects from multiple devices that could be happening as often as every 5-10 minutes. I am sitting with my phone right next to the router and it still disconnects. It's bizarre to me that I switched from EE for higher speed broadband where I had no issues with the connection and now I have extreme issues with Sky connection not even 2 weeks after activation.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping

I have been very happy with my Deco system, strong signal and no drop outs, I think I am just a few months now from being able to swap back to BT, sky broadband hasn't been as good as BT for my house

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping

Are you using BT's own router? It's not very good at all. I bought a third party one (ASUS brand) and have had no connectivity issues since then.

No I'm on sky and using skys router which is terrible and has WiFi drops constantly, which is why I bought a deco Mesh

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping

My sky max hub is dropping in and out which is extremely frustrating. I thought it was supposed to improve the situation but it doesn't. The engineers also positioned it next to a radiator which was stupid. Really difficult to maintain connection and very disappointing. Sky talked my mum into changing to this sky max hub but it's nothing but a headache.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping

Two years on, no fix that I am aware of, even if you rent repeaters from Sky.  I am still using my Deco system, with sky max WiFi turned off, the Deco WiFi mesh has been absolutely great, really fast full coverage across my house and garage with zero problems.

couple more months and I can Exet the sky deal and go back to BT

WHITE BOX DISCONNECTION FIX BELOW!!!

I have just upgraded from the old black box (never had any issues) to the 900mbps which comes with the white box ... but not a max subscription. (they activated the max subscription without asking and then when they realised, they cancelled it... without telling us) We have been having connection drop outs around 5-10 times per minute rendering the internet useless. Nothing can be seen on the Sky engineer side... however... I have fixed it and all running stable. For anyone still going through the issues, fix below. PLEASE note... you will have to re-enter you ORIGINAL password that came on your router to ALL devices. AAAAALLLSO... dont make the mistake I made and start the fix before going to each device and clicking FORGET NETWORK, BEFORE the fix. If you dont do that... your devices will have a hard time alowing you to reconnect, and you cant forget the network after because it gets caught in a loop thinking it already knows the network... but cant actually connect to allow you to put in the new password meaning you will have to factory reset some devices like apple tv boxes.

Step one: Cry (Actual fix below)

Step two: Go to each device and forget the network.

Step three: Hold the WPS button on the side of your max hub router for 30 ish seconds. The light on the front will turn off and start flashing green and then cycle through colours. This will take around 5 mins. This will force it to reset its self entirely and will rebuild the 2.4ghz and 5ghz band protocols. I found that even with resetting in the app manually, certain devices were getting locked onto 2.4ghz which was choking the speed to 90mbps.

Step 4: Reconnect all your devices using the ORIGINAL password that came with your box.

I have been running a connection and packet monitor since this yesterday and have only had maybe 3 drops which lasted for maybe 4 seconds. Which is perfectly normal.

I hope this helps EVERYONE that has been struggling with these white routers.
