Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
I'll be moving from sky at the end of the contact. Not impressed with the constant stuttering and connection drops across all devices and no matter where I am in the house. Not to mention lack of customisation from the router.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
Yeah I might need to as well. My partner's mobile is worse than mine for some reason (hers is Samsung Galaxy S21), and it just keeps dropping connection, even though I've switched off IPv6 and changed to WPA2.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
Just got my hub today, took an age to configure as I had separate 2.4 and 5 ssid's configured on my old hub, this is not allowed on this new hub, which makes it pretty useless. I had to turn off the 5ghz wifi to be able to add 2.4 legacy devices. Having got most of it working I find the wifi signal is so weak my SKY mini box cannot maintain a connection, keeps dropping constantly.
After 5 hours of trying I have gone back to the old hub, this new one is totally unreliable and just rubbish in my opinion.
The other big problem is you no longer have the ability to make changes by logging into the web address, the interface is a joke and most things are greyed out. They say use Mysky app, but that is too limited.
If you are thinking of going down this route, I suggest you don't bother.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
Struggled with the WiFi dropping issue for months, and decided to purchase an ASUS AX3000 router. While the signal is still fairly weak in the living room, it is consistently better than the Sky Hub router and I no longer have the dropping issue. Don't get me wrong, I still have packets lost, but video calls are now feasible.
The Asus router was pretty much plug and play, and their app is pretty easy to use!

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
I ended up turning 5ghz off and it seems to be more consistent. But I now have generally slower speeds consistently too. Definitely going to move away from sky at the end of the contract.

Re: Sky Max hub wifi keeps dropping
I have noticed on the new white hubs that the 5ghz WiFi has a stupid amount of channels that a lot of devices can't won't and don't use or connect to. So most devices I have will only connect to 5ghz WiFi between channel 34 and 50 which I'm assuming is standard old school 5ghz but the newer devices are using channels like 152? Which is what mine keeps switching to. I have no way of stopping it switching to a newer channel as it's managed by the router / sky and all settings are greyed out and unavailable.
