Possible WhatsApp scam
Hi. I have been contacted by what looks like a genuine Sky WhatsApp account suggesting I am eligible for a full fibre upgrade. Is this genuine?

Re: Possible WhatsApp scam
If it's in the UK, one possible point of confirmation is to use the BT Wholesale Availability Checker to verify which broadband provisioning types are available.

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.
Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

Re: Possible WhatsApp scam
As is stated in the posts above yours, there's a legitimate Sky campaign currently going out on WhatsApp.
Of course it's always possible that scammers spot this and use it to their own advantage.

Re: Possible WhatsApp scam
To repeat again, there is a legitimate reason ongoing Sky campaign using WhatsApp, but scammers are clever enough to spot such things and duplicate them for their own ends.
No-one in this forum can advise if the contact in your particular case is authentic.

Re: Possible WhatsApp scam
@Annahum Had similar the other evening when alleged call came in on a +44800 number and on the other end was a person saying they were from sky, i was busy helping son hang a new TV so asked them to call me back which they never did as yet, but i called sky day later and asked what was going on after the CS went off to check she came back said yes we see that sky sales did try to call you and are you happy with this answer, OK said i, please fill out the survey which i did, NOTE i put was GET it on the My Messages section, let me go look see what/where/when and save me hanging on the phone for 30mins to get through!
That's going to be systems issue if they can do so but takes away all the maybe a scam or not, as SCAMMERS will never get to that and if they did would be time to get out off sky!
