So, I just recently purchased a new house and noticed there's no phone socket installed. I have already got my Sky hub 4.2 (Ultrafast broadband) and now currently waiting on Sky to activate the signal, which should be tomorrow, and was wondering if a phone cable is required for the use of broadband? I do have an openreach ONT installed from the previous tenants. I don't use a landline and don't require a home phone, and hoping I don't need an engineer to come out and install one.
Any responses would be very much appreciated?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Clyner82 The Openreach ONT replaces all use of a phone socket. Your router plugs into the ONT for a broadband connection. Then if you want use of a phone you connect the phone to the phone port on the back of your hub.
