Joining sky without a landline

I'm a student moving into a student house and I'm looking at joining Sky as broadband isn't included in our bills. The previous tenants had Virgin Media and I believe that the house is connected to Fibre Optic cabling. My main issue is that when I go to order the broadband, it asks if I want to keep my landline number but I don't know what it is (or if the house even has one). Is there anyway of sorting this out or an alternative solution?

Sky Broadband requires either Openreach copper phone cabling or an Openreach fibre optic circuit: it cannot use Virgin Media infrastructure.  If this isn't currently there then having it installed is part of the process (and that requires landlords permission for drilling)

Perhaps also worth noting that the minimum Sky term is now 24 months, which presents obvious potential issues for student occupancy.
