Does the light go green if you power cycle the router ? That is usually enough to resolve the problem. I got the dreaded orange voice light again today around noon (it's a regular occurrence) - Sky are sending a new router but I am not hopeful it will resolve the issue which seems to be within their own infrastructure.
I just wish they'd acknowledge the problem and set out steps to fix it

I have found that every time thus happens, sky have just done a automatic line check. Now trying to get them to sort it, wish me luck

I've had this problem since I went over to fibre. New router didn't help and every time I go on holiday I'm left without security. What are Sky doing about it..... nothing at all!

Hi, I changed house and now I have this problem, what do I have to do?

I've just had my router replaced as it was faulty, voice light turned amber last night when I was at work, told my partner to reset the router and it solves it temporarily but it will occur again at some point, what is the actual voice thing btw? I don't even think I use it, is it something to do with phonecalls?

If you haven't Sky Talk and no phone plugged into the Sky router then ignore the voice led.

I assume when you look at
the router you normally have 4 green led's across the board.
When your last led goes to amber, the question from your post were you having any other issue's
and that is why you got the reset done?
If nothing else was wrong please let the forum know, or when it happens again also let us know
if everything is working fine but the LED went amber.
There is a recouring theme going on, and with the new connection of the phone now having
to be plugged into the router, i would really like to know. Lot of people do not use the landline
now and if you are like this, as the other reply was, just ignore the LED but know that can be annoying.
Thanks Jim

Having this problem alot the voice light is orange or peole trying to call usget a number not availbe message, as we now only have wifi caling its really not good, I often have no internet even when I have 4 green lights as well, I wonder if the router needs changing.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@rogon if you have no internet when all 4 lights are lit then the most likely cause is a poor connection from your device to the hub. You can test your connection to Sky by running the connnection test in the My Sky app when all the lights are green. If there is a line issue the test should pick it up. If you allow it you can get the system to check the wifi connection to your devices as well.

@JimM1 that was when I 1st got my replacement router I think it was just settling in hence why the WiFi was still working with the voice light amber it eventually turned green around 20 minutes after I 1st powered it on but now when the voice light turns amber it still says I am connected to the router but there's physically no broadband connection, this has been a common occurrence since I joined Sky, I've attached a screenshot, as you can see everything seems to be in working order but when the voice light turns amber it disables everything and the only way to solve the problem temporarily is reset the router, but it would appear Sky don't know how to fix it and just blame the router
Update* It would appear powering down the ONT solves the issue as the voice light is now green again and the internet is back up and running I shouldn't have to keep doing that though

@Robbo0410 With the ONT reset, you should be able to now login to the router, have a look at the log file and then there maybe an entry at the time your issue happened, at least the ont reset will allow the router to .maintain its history.

@JimM1 I can still login to the router settings even when the voice light is amber, next time it does it I'll get up the log and copy it into this discussion, it says the broadband is still enabled on the main page also but says WiFi is disabled if that makes sense, I think I attached a screenshot of it in a previous post, so the broadband is still working even with the amber light on voice, other 3 are green including WiFi but it says it's disabled for some reason when you load the router settings page up, it is generally occurring once every 48 hours I have noticed this whole voice light turning amber problem

Had this issue today, solid orange light on Voice, WIFI stopped working. Had to switch the router off/on to resolve the issue. Checked logs and can see :
Received NTP Sync Reply from ntp1.isp.sky.com
bind 0.0.0.0 - Address already in use
Does that mean anything to anyone ?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@andy+lev that is a normal entry to do with lease renewal. The voice issue is normally caused by a server node at Sky's end not working properly. If it recurs try powering down the hub for an hour as that can clear your connection from the faulty node to a good one..

thank you, will do that next time it goes Orange and report back here if the issue reappears again.
