@jamesn123  Looks like the connection dropped just under 38 hours ago.

@KRC1471  You said that you have to daily re-start the router the router has been up just under 300 hours.

@Highlinder

I was more interested in looking at the exact rx/tx of the router because they mentioned packet loss & the BQM shows packet loss after 8am.

Re: Internet Drops out on FTTP Service

From reading other threads it seems to be an issue with Sky's equipment in the exchanges. I know people on FTTP with other ISP's that don't have the same issue. To do with not enough addresses being issued I have heard. Sky need to sort it out as if the router was able to reboot and the connection come back online it wouldn't be so bad, but as it doesn't, it means anything connected at the time loses connection. Not great for security cameras for example.

FTTP should be more stable that FTTC and yet it seems Sky are dropping the ball on this one.

I'll be voting with my feet and changing ISP when my contract is up. I don't want to, but I also want an Internet connection I can rely on!

Re: latency dropped packets

there are times when I just restart the bt openreach box and then there's easter when we havn't used it as much. but it gets to be a daily occurance during some preiods.

so to be specific, there are periods of very annoying occurences when i have to restart the box, then there are periods when i may go for a while without restarting it. i normally restart all routers/internal booster hubs when i restart the openreach connection when the voice indicator goes amber on the sky router.

Hi Everyone

Thank you for much for making us aware of this problem.

As posts were spread across the Community, it's something that we hadn't noticed until it was brought to our attention.  I've brought together the posts to this thread and therefore the thread might look at a bit out of sync.  We've passed the information to our support teams for investigation.

I'm going to mark this post as answered, so people can get to the most up-to-date information quickly. This doesn't mean the problem is fixed.  When we have more information to share, we will do, and thanks again for letting us know about the problem.

Thanks
Kev
