Connect ASUS TUF AX3000 V2 to Sky Router Superfast

Hi,

I'm thinking of joining Sky but before I do, I need to know if I can connect my Asus router to the sky router. I don't have fibre in my area so it's not FTTP and the max I can get is Superfast broadband, I believe the Sky would be connected via coax (I haven't moved in yet but that's what it looks like) so it's going to be FTTC.

I know there is mention about setting DHCP Option 61 but I believe that is only for FTTP?

My question is, can I connect my Asus router to the sky hub via ethernet?

Thanks

Heres a link to a thread which shows that with a tp link td w9970 modem bridge the asus tuf will work in modem mode and that it has the dhcp option 61 capabilities to authenticate with sky servers without the need for the sky hub

Thanks for that but that looks like it's if I have ADSL. I believe the connection is FTTC (coax)

The tp link td w9970 is adsl, vdsl and has been set up successfully with many superfast customers alongside different asus models

Another option would be draytek vigor models in more or less the tp link td w9970 however the draytek vigor 130 (i think thats the model but will check) is 3 times more expensive than the tp link

Also since you mention coax are you with sky at the minute . Coax is virgin broadband whilst fttc is delivered via an openreach mastersocket
