Hi,
I ordered Sky broadband on 4th May after moving into my new house. The installation and activation date was supposed to be 17th May.
However, on 9/5 I received a message from Sky, saying, "Openreach have told us there may be a delay with activating your services."
I did actually see some marks (marking likes |<- OR ----->|, i don't know what does it stand for) with white chalk from pavement across the grass to my house.
On 13/5 Sky sent me an update, "Openreach have told us they currently do not have equipment in place to connect your Broadband and Talk to your phone exchange."
On 21/5 another update "Openreach need to clear a blockage for the cabling to run from the telephone exchange to your property. There is no set timescale for this to be completed as this is dependent on the work required to connect your property to the telephone exchange."
Plus, when I was ordering the service I have come across a message saying that there was an account associated with my address - I believe the previous tenant of my house used Sky as well. So why does it take so long to do the installation?
The date just keeps postponing, and as it says there is no set timescale. What should I do?
Thanks,
PS. this is the BT Broadband Availability Checker result:

The notes say underground partial direct im ground . So they need another team to do the more complex installation. If any of the digging is on a public road/footpath then they also have to notify the council about the pending works. Local acknowledgement can take 4 weeks

'UG partial direct in ground' means there's currently no duct to the address which a new optical cable can follow.
Unfortunately you'll only get broadband service when such a cable is in place: any previous broadband service over copper isn't relevant any more.

Hi @cookiemonsteruk and @TimmyBGood ,
Thanks for prompt reply! So does this mean that all I can do is to wait...?
Btw, as per my order details stated the activation date was 17th May, am I eligable for the "Sky Broadband & Talk Automatic Compensation" as Delayed provisioning?
Thanks,
