@Luke+Samuel after checking this out the forum team confirm what you were told that there is no compensation for delayed provisioning in ireland. I have asked the confusing web page removed.

Compensation for delay in Broadband
Hi, I know everyone has probably asked this and answered it before. I used to work in Virgin so I know abit about the process off good will gestures. With my broad being over 5 weeks delayed due to a 3rd party obviously I know Sky cannot do anything or myself but they did put on the kids channels for free for me. Now approaching 6 weeks I think it's only fair they might do a good will gesture even though it's not their fault but in Virgin customer service we always did. Sales agents can't do anything but when I asked to go to customer service/loyalty/cancellations the agent gave me the kids for free for 2 months and waived a 60 once off charge about 2 weeks ago. I have the full package everything sports movies etc. Now it's been another 2 weeks heading towards 6 weeks, surely Sky as a company will help me out with some form off good will gesture 15 years a Sky customer and technically a new account at this address they set it up as. What does everyone think on this subject?

Re: Compensation for delay in Broadband
You will get compensated once the broadband has been provisioned as a result of the delay as Sky is signed up to OFCOMs voluntary compensation scheme

Re: Compensation for delay in Broadband
@Luke+Samuel You will be due compensation for the delayed provision but only once everything is connected from the ofcom regulated scheme sky aren't obligated to offer anything else

Re: Compensation for delay in Broadband
Hi so in the article in the link, it says 6.10 per day after the day it was meant to be installed and go active so does this mean I receive 6.10 x 30 or 33 days etc.

Re: Compensation for delay in Broadband
@Luke+Samuel I'll try and seek clarification but given ofcom is a uk regulator only it's highly possible to be the case

Re: Broadband delay compensation Ireland
@Luke+Samuel most customers are UK based so advice in the forum tends to assume that UK rules apply. The customer compensation scheme is mandated by Ofcom and the money is normally paid by Openreach the UK network provider where activation is delayed. It would therefore not normally apply to Ireland as tge network providers are different but this page implies it does as it has an Irish flag at the bottom https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation
I will ask the forum managers to check if this is an error and what the correct answer is.

Auto-compensation in the UK is a voluntary scheme under Ofcom oversight, so that probably wouldn't apply in RoI (where ComReg is the appropriate body)
I guess any ISP could choose to operate something similar there.

@TimmyBGood 100% agree but there is an Irish Sky.com page saying it does.

Re: Broadband delay compensation Ireland
I found that too actually but forgot where so lost the link but it definitely said in Ireland it applies the same but maybe with a different company. Surely Sky would do the same here but with an Irish company, be great to know the answer thanks

Re: Broadband delay compensation Ireland
I can't find anything associated with ComReg apart from postal compensation.
Presumably Sky should be listing the relevant payments in Euros if there was such a thing, but those are set by Ofcom so again wouldn't necessarily carry over.

Re: Broadband delay compensation Ireland
I wonder is there a way off finding out for sure if the same in Ireland. I hope it is , it's a great scheme considering how hard it is without broadband in a new house with kids or for work etc.
