Broadband and WiFi constantly dropping out.

My super fast broadband has suddenly developed problems dropping in and out. Have reset hub and checked services….which states OK ….but it’s not.

Same issue. Black router. Issue poccurs even if within a metre of the reuter. Affecting multiple devices of different types. Connection jumps between 5Gb and 150Gb when done seconds apart from each other.

 

Additional tests done using pathping etc indicate there is an issue on the line somewhere. The ping time usually showing 1-5 Ms but every now and then it jumps to near 200 Ms. To make it worse, its an intermittent issue and is preventing me fro retaining a continuous connection whcih then times me out of disconects me from all my services.

 

Called Sky to explain this months ago and nothing has been done or followed up. They also make it an absolutey nightmare to make contact - cannot find a number from them anymore

@Moosma Not sure where you are coming from with this unless you are just letting the Forum know, but there is not a single sky SR hub that does the speeds you are indicating for sure!

@Eoin123 Sky did not install Fibre the Infrastructure is all OR, or CF, one off those two did the Fibre!

@Eoin123 They are a contractor to openreach for installing the Fibre to the home! If you can best to see if the ONT with it's 3 Green lights is dropping off or if it is just the sky Hub when you have the issue!

@Eoin123 Which one, the only light that flashes is the Lan connection, that is data going back and forth between the sky Hub and the ONT?

 

There are a few different varients of ONT in use, but the Essential is Power Solid Green, Pon Solid Green, and the Lan is the flashing one!

That's what I have - the lan flashing 

 

I have WiFi for a few minutes then it drops for a few minutes randomly but constantly 

my Netflix doesn't work and q mini boxes can't find the hub
