Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

A short-term fix may be to set the DNS server manually on the iPhone that you are setting up the HomePod from and then try to connect the HomePod using these settings when pairing the device to Sky Hubs, suggest Google or Cloudflare for the DNS server setting which are 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 and see whether it fixes connectivity issues.

-------

Zen internet on FTTP (900Mbps down, 100Mbps up). SAT> IP (Apple 4K 2nd gen TV to LG C1 OLED UHD TV/Dolby Atmos Denon AVR, DacMagic Plus for Hi-Res audio), hosting own blog/forum (cluster), OPNsense & Zenarmor L4/L7 NGFW & DPI IDS/IPS, Asus ET12 Pro Tri-Band wifi, Linux, Gamer: Xbox Series X/i7 laptop, round-robin DNS over HTTPS, non-proprietary VoIP HD AMR-WB (G.722.2) and more... Beta tester Apple iOS/watchOS/tvOS/iPadOS/macOS.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

To change the DNS server on the iPhone used for setting up the HomePod select:-

On the iPhone:-

Settings->WiFi click the (i) to the right. Select Configure DNS->Manual Add Server type in 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 in the box. Delete the default setting above for the Sky DNS server at 192.168.0.1 and then Save.

Then set up the HomePod.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

thanks for giving some options @mae-3 there don't seem to be many solutions to this. I tried changing the DNS on my phone but still can't connected.

@nicksk11

Worth a try, unfortunately, that doesn't from your feedback.

Did you try resetting the HomePod completely to factory settings? Then set DNS on the iPhone, switch on HomePod and try setting it up afresh.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

Same issue here. Clearly an Sky problem but seems to be no interest in resolving this. HomePod A2374

sky needs to let customers know immediately if it will no longer support Apple products then we can all vote with our feet and go to BT or elsewhere

@Cj161

All Sky equipment is proprietary having an issue with Apple equipment Sky is basically in competition and isn't good for business profit-wise but is Sky listening I doubt it. Apple being one of the largest providers of computer equipment you expect Sky to be wise and work with it in all respects.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

Hi, I am also having the same frustrating problem where my HomePod Mini can't connect to my Sky Hub.

My setup with other Internet Providers have worked perfectly over the years but after recently moving and changing over to Sky, it has now stopped working as expected, this shouldn't even be a problem for such company like Sky.

This issue really need to get resolved quickly via a Sky Hub update as this is unacceptable. It just doesn't make sense that a very popular Apple product can't seamlessly connect to a modern router from Sky. This is the first time that my HomePod Mini has stopped working and became unusable since I got it because of changing over to Sky, it worked just fine with a BT Hub and Now Hub in the past.

HomePod Mini is on the latest update and the Model Number is A2374.

Please escalate this issue further and I look forward to hearing that a solution has been implemented soon. Thank you.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

I too am having the same issue with the Apple HomePod Mini - have tried all suggestions here and still can not connect to WiFi. I even took the HomePod to my MIL's house on Virgin BB - it worked fine and I managed to update to v. 17.2. 100% relates to the Sky fibre network. Just don't know what exactly!
