I'm wondering if the new Sky Puck will work in a different address as it is streamed?.. just thinking that it would be a good Xmas present for my elderly parents..

You can't do that, not only will it not work you would be breaking the T & C's you agreed to when signing up to Glass.

No the puck will not work away from your household.
It needs a Glass TV present on the home network to work correctly.
The Sky Glass facts and T&Cs spell it out in more detail if you care to read the Sky Glass flagged information here;

@lettice @So if I power off the glass tv will the puck still work? I currently have the tv connected via power saving extension lead the disconnects power from tv and ancillary devices.

I don't think so but just try turning the power off to the TV and see if the Puck still works.

Surely the puck will work if the Glass Tv is switched off. Sky even mention in their T and C's that if the Glass TV is damaged or stolen and unusable, the customer can continue to use the puck

@Anonymous Sky are not saying how the system checks that the Puck is not being used wherr it shouldnt be but you can be surd there are security checks running. Certainly a puck turning up on a different IP address from the Glass I expect would cause an issue.

Re: Will the new Sky Glass Puck work at another house, just thinking of a potential Xmas present?
I am not saying that there aren't checks. My point was that you don't have to have the Glass Tv on and working for the puck to work, if the puck is being used legitimately at the users address. An an example a child kicks the glass screen and breaks it, the customer isn't insured and can't afford a new set. There is nothing to stop the customer from continuing to use the puck, as I said it's even in skys terms and conditions
