@hope you have more luck than me- I ordered a 2nd puck which came today and it won't get past the remote setup screen

called sky and they tried resetting the puck and poring one of my other remotes but no luck

They are sending out a replacement !

My previous post was meant to be in response to the above, but looks like I can't edit my previous reply.

Not sure if this helps but during set up of my puck today with an engineer on line to reset the remote that would not connect he had me press 4 & 6 simultaneously for 3 seconds and then 1 & 3 simultaneously for 3 seconds, this connected the remote almost immediately.

tried the remote from my other puck

tried powering off for a few hours

tried holding the bottom switch in while powering

sky tried the same - gotta wait for the returns real which are apparently so busy it's now 48 hours

That's beside the fact that it takes 5 plug pulls to get off a spooling sky splash screen

If you do decide to revert beck to sky q within 31 days is this done quickly with one phone call to sky and just swap the box back  to q ?

@Villa19

I'd like to know that too about reverting back to Sky Q, also do they charge you again for one's existing  sky q mini boxes if it's considered a new contract ?

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

Has anyone managed to get Sky Stream as a new customer yet or is it just a matter of waiting until the 18th? I've had Sky in the past and have been waiting for something like this to be released! Thanks

@Stormed  You have to specifically ask about it when speaking to sky but they are under no obligation to sell it until the 18th

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

Thanks - I'm tempted to give them a call tomorrow to see if I can get but if not then at least the official release day isn't far away!

I have had it for a week now. I was a Sky customer in the past but not for years. I just called up and asked and it was sorted and delivered two days later. I think it is a great bit of kit!

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

The poster who asked about HDR

My TV runs as UHD SDR but if HDR is present it defaults to that.

The problem is the colour is very weak on HDR on my TV but if not HDR it shows up with the colour settings as they are on the TV just like any other channel.

Yes you can watch UHD in SDR but I found a workaround. If it tells you you cannot watch a UHD channel at all set picture resolution to 2160p and say ok to changes then press home.

Then go to a uhd channel

Then go to picture settings again and change the resolution back to 1080p and say ok to changes. At that point hilight ' currently wstching' and press the centre button OK button.

Then change to a different HDMI Input ON YOUR TELEVISION NOT the puck. and go back to your puck HDMI input.

Once you have done that with the puck on 1080p you should be able to watch any channel and still get back to the uhd ones which are still sharp and look superb.

Hope that helps.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

I think a lot of it is down to the broadcast pictures. The Arsenal v Liverpool game and the American Football tonight are both superb in UHD. The darts looked a bit washed out.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

So this is interesting.

Just called and was offered the ultimate (basic lol) pack for £23 and sports for £20, but apparently you can cancel the former and still get the sports. For years I've paid for hundreds of channels I never watch so my future bills would be £20 on a 31-day rolling contract which sounds ideal.

Sky must be shirting themselves if they're prepared to halve they're subscription costs for the millions like me that only pay for Sky One and all the other carp because it was the only way to get the sports.

And presumably there's nothing to stop me taking the puck to someone else's house or a holiday home and watch it there. I expect there's a UK IP address issue though.
