Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

@MichaeWlG @I am not posting with certainty. It's a frustrating situation that I'm in with the playlist and I just can't see how it's being managed on my glass, I can only guess that it's being managed on a sky server. Everytime I question sky they tell me that my playlist is handled by sky and is automatically updated by what's been tagged using the (+) button.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

So are we are all guilty in assuming the update to version 004 was to "FIX" Playlist issues?

If not, what is its purpose? Maybe 007 will sort things out for us !

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Nobody has said 004 will fix playlist, or have you been told this?

I can only say what 004 has done for me, and it's nothing.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

As this discussion thread is titled "Unable to remove item from playlist", initiated on the 24th of October 2021, anything remotely like a Software update will be seen as possible fix for the ongoing Playlist issues. I am just as guilty in assuming that it might just have been that, based on desperation. Or rather exasperation......Does anyone know what the 004 software update is intended to improve/fix?

Anyway, I shall leave things as they are, other than the odd screen/sound freezing I must say Sky Glass is generally pretty good. Shame it is let down by the obvious Playlist issues

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Does anyone else have their Home Screen TV Guide Rail screening times out of sync as of this morning? Like some of mine are showing the LATEST program some hours before it's due to be broadcast...

Finally, can anyone advise if programs in the PLAY NOW Rail will eventually fall/drop off, even if they are never viewed please? Or to put it in another way. How do they eventually fall/drop off?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

The TV guide rail is messed up due to the EPG being faulty with missing data.

The way play now shows is drop off when they get pushed to the end by other programs filling the play now rail. However, play now isn't working as expected for me and many others so don't expect it to work as advertised.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Thanks @Jayboy1990 what an earth is an EPG please? Electronic Program Guide I guess?

I guess my Play Now Rail will be as it is now this time next year then ! I spoke to SKY for sometime today, she told me basically they are not trained to deal with issues relating to faults with the Glass User Interface, so no luck there...

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

@MichaeWlG  yes that's what EPG means.

Sky can't troubleshoot THEIR own products and the faults you report, hmm we really are being taken for mugs!

I am at the end of my tether with glass now, I am in no way going to continue paying to be a Guinea pig that is treated with little to no respect.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

I agree with you @Jayboy1990 I did tag @Mark-Br in post a few days ago stating:-

"We are not Beta Testers @Mark-Br we are paying subscribers and as such we should be given a reliable service"

Yes, a bit of respect wouldn't go amiss either...

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

I feel much the same - the most frustrating aspect is the silence from Sky. An email saying we're aware of a few issues with the Playlist, the EPG, the speakers - but stick with us and we should have it fixed by May, in the meantime here's a £20 credit - I'd probably be happy as Larry. But seeing the advertising promoting an ideal product and then comparing that with the reality is what galls - but maybe I'm just grumpy!

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Hi @Mark-Br this post is directed to you in the hope you may listen and pass on its contents to those who are ultimately at the end of the chain where changes can be made to the Sky Glass User Interface.

More specifically, to add the option to DELETE/REMOVE programs from the Play now Rail, whether they be single episodes or multi-episodes. Imagine if you will this scenario.....a family friend calls round, lovely people with three lovely children.

One of the kids grabs the Glass Remote, starts pressing buttons willy-nilly without a care in the World. The Dad joins in, "Hey kids, look what's on this App, or this channel here"...Eventually they say their goodbyes and leave...now the fun begins...

We have heaps of programs my lovely wife and I are never going to watch, nor would want to. We are left with a cluttered up Play now Rail that we cannot change.

Judging by the page after page of subscribers having issues with the inability to DELETE/REMOVE from the Play now Rail since the Glass launch back in October; I would have thought by now the message from your paying subscribers is. "It ain't working".

You may also think of adding a "Classic Interface" option that mirrors the Sky Q menu system, where the user can switch to it and have control over how and when they want to enjoy their viewing.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Do you thnk if we all joined forces and approached SKY en masse that they would listen to us?  I am really pi$$ed off that I am paying top whack for a product that doesnt appear fit for purpose.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Not related to deleting things from the playlist but an issue with it none the less, todays six nations game was at an awkward time, 2 toddles, kick off was at dinner time, no problem I though I'll " record" it and watch it after bedtime, sit down with a beer to watch it and it's not available when I select it from my playlist, and now it's nowhere to be seen on my playlist.
sky need to sort this out and have some sort of cloud storage for recordings, relying on third party apps just isn't cutting it.
Has anyone recorded from sky sports and been able to watch it a few hours after the event?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Another annoyance is that if I access a programme through the playlist-TV shows rail, the episodes are shown earliest to most recent, meaning you have to trawl through weeks, sometimes months to get to the most recent, as opposed to through ITV hub or iplayer, where they display the most recent first!

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

@MichaeWlG What's your obsession with the Play Now rail?

In your scenario, friends visit and start random programmes that then sit on the Play Now rail. If that happened to me, I wouldn't be bothered. To access things I want to watch I go into the Play List and search and access what I want to watch that way.

I hardly ever pay any attention to the Play Now rail. Why does it HAVE to have only what you want on it? It's designed to give you quick access to stuff you were watching. Watch other things, and the stuff that your friends were watching will fall off it eventually.

I don't see the issue.
