Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

I think that's your Play Now Rail which you can't remove things from and can contain Sky suggestions.

If you click into "View All" from that page and then into "TV Shows", then you will see just the items that are in your Playlist. If "This Morning" is still there, then it's in your Playlist

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Ah, thanks for the clarification. That makes it even worse, so its actually physically titled "Playlist" but its not actually the playlist, but the "Play Now" list?  Yes I have deduced that if I click on view all only my added viewing is there, but I would really like my preferred added stuff on the main page for ease of use.  Surely a separate "Suggested Playlist" and "Your Playlist could be achieved by Sky with little effort?  Which is what, it appears, many customers would prefer?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

I'm sure they'll ultimately sort it all out with a succession of software updates. Until then, for me at least, it's acceptable.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

That has already been suggested to me Jarmsimo, and it did NOT work I am sorry to say......

Ah, ok, just a thought. Worked for me.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Has anyone noticed this is a "Self Help" thread, no one from Sky ever contributes to this thread. Maybe they don't care?  Or more likely they don't even read the threads?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Sky may not comment on individual threads, but they certainly are looking out for common threads and issues.

This was apparant from the most recent lengthy Glass email that asked for responses in a survey. The questions were basically mirroring things raised in this community.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Your Playlist is as the same as mine Leopardlady. I select View all, and all I get is the Play now rail. There is NEVER an option to Remove anything  from the Playlist screen.

What screws me up is, if I manage to FFWD to dump some program from my Play now rail, it comes back into my Playlist the next day.... I've heard of  "The Circle Of Life", but this is ridiculous !!!

Try these steps;

  • Select, 'Playlist View All' to enter the Playlist
    • If you select the episode shown in the Play Now rail (see image), you won't be able to remove the series.
  • In the 'TV shows' rail select the series you want to watch or remove
  • You should see an option to 'remove series'

The steps are partially outlined in this video (plays from 1 min 12 sec)

EDIT: The extract below is taken from this Community page.

What is the Play Now rail?

Play now brings together things you have recently added to your Playlist, alongside things you've started to watch - it takes your viewing history into account - so if you have caught up with a show and the next episode becomes available, it will be presented at the beginning of Play now.

If a programme is only available to restart or watch live, this will only be displayed in Play now while it is broadcasting.

How do I remove shows from the Play Now rail?

You can’t manually remove items from the Play Now rail, but these will drop off over time as you watch and add more.

Hi @leopard+lady

@Jarmsimo is right, that is a Play Now rail. 🙂

If you select the 'Playlist- View All' option you can see your Playlist.

If you then select a show (in the Playlist menu) you can add/remove the series from your Playlist.

Note: If you select the show from the Play Now rail, you will not see the option to remove it from Playlist.

Adding and removing shows from your Playlist will not automatically remove them from your Play Now rail. But, they will drop off over time depending on your viewing habits.

I've quoted a post from earlier in this thread which may help. 🙂

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Hi again Mark-Br, I have already been through the process you describe above, it NEVER resolves anything I am sorry to say. The sequence of photos below shows the cycle I have gone through many times. I have LINGO in my Playlist, I go to View all, I see LINGO in the Play now rail.

I now go to TV Shows, select ITV/Entertainment, LINGO is listed there, I ADD Series, Series is ADDED

I now go back to my Play list, LINGO is there. I select View all, I am now back in the Play rail, LINGO is there, still no option to remove it.

I go back to TV Shows, I shows LINGO I have ADDED, and I REMOVE it from there.

Finally, I go back to my Play list, LINGO is STILL there with no option to remove it I select View all, I am now back in the Play rail, LINGO is there.PlaylistPlaylistPlay nowPlay nowTV ShowsTV ShowsAdd SeriesAdd SeriesSeries AddedSeries AddedBack to Playlist View allBack to Playlist View allPlay now railPlay now railBack to TV ShowsBack to TV ShowsLingo still thereLingo still thereLingo still hereLingo still here

I thought Sky Glass was supposed to be the 'no fuss' TV? 🤔

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

I did add a few photos to my last posting, seems they are taking an age to be vetted? Seems they are there, but only when I am not logged into my Sky Account?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

UPDATE....OK, I FFWD the last episode in the Series of ITV's LINGO to its end, as I have done many times. That removed LINGO from my Playlist, which is EMPTY now, the way I WANT it to remain. If I need to watch a scheduled program outside of its schedule, I will find it don't worry...

So, all I have to do now is wait until 3pm GMT when LINGO is scheduled for transmission, to see if the poxy program gets re-added to my Playlist...this is what is annoys me about the Sky Playlist. It keeps adding programs I start to watch, but NEVER ADD to my Playlist, otherwise I do not have many other issue with the Sky Glass TV, sometimes the sound/picture freezes, but that is less frequent now...watch this space..

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist

Screenshot 2022-01-27 at 14.13.00.pngMy issue is not only removing things I have added and dont want to continue watching, its things I havent added and dont want to watch, therefore are present on the home page (playlist that isn't a playlist) but if I click to the next scren they are not there so cannot be removed.  As in the photo, started watching ghosts but didn't like it, but as it isn't on the next screen I can't delete it.  All elite wrestling - no idea where this has come from as never watched wrestling in my life!!! same as before, not on the next screen.  One of the grandkinds started watching Croods, same as, not on next screen so can't delete.
