It's stopped working altogether now. Had it 3 days and this morning was the only time it worked. Now can't do nothing

mid you have an old sky q remote hanging around these can also be paired up to work

So I am now using my old sky q remote, on my second sky stream remote.

 

I got it working again by doing this..

 

Grip the remote and twist it with both hands in opposite directions. 

Sky you really need to own up to this design floor, this is nothing to do with software, stop fobbing people off with this bull.

 

Also when a new remote is ready you need to send out automatically to each and every every customer who has sky stream.

 

I have had sky stream for 6 days and 2 remotes doing the same thing, this includes waiting for delivery of new remote.

 

Recall is required!

Just had the first (Stream) remote failure. Unresponsive, no lights on pick-up/movement.

 

Checked batteries (original Duracell's) with a DVM, both 4.75v - perfect.

Checked battery terminals for connectivity - perfect.

 

Following findings here, severely twisted the remote and bingo! - lights come on and remote works again. I don't recall mishandling this remote at all in the last 3 weeks of having Stream (2 pucks - the other remote has worked throughout)

 

Fundamental design issue. What if the remote is accidentally knocked off the sofa to the floor? ANY remote should be designed to work through this. What if the remote is thrown from one person to another in the same room, is missed and it hits the wall, furniture, floor? ANY remote should be designed to work through this.

 

This has got to be the most fragile remote I have ever experienced.

It's now Nov 20th and still the same issues but sky keep selling the crap sky stream is - shouldn't be allowed as they have no idea to sort this - first thing tomorrow I'm cancelling

I'm not sure using a Sky Q remote long term will be possible... After a predefined amount of time a puck will display an on-screen message instructing you to pick up the remote or the puck will go into standby mode. Does a Sky Q remote have the required built in sensor that detects movement?

Hold the remote in both hands and gently twist it , till to hear a creak - then press the home button, when it works goes to Home Screen , go to settings and rapir remote

Not that any should have too, ,but i brought a replacement off Amazon when my remote died. I made the choice as didn't want to wait x amount of days and I also didn't have my old sky q remote as sent it back

 

it's been working perfectly, no issues , it's advertised as a glass remote so am presuming / guessing was made outside the stream batch of bad ones.

 

I do plan on speaking to sky about cost 👍

I have the same issue. The remote seems completely unresponsive. I assume its an issue with controlling the tv as well.....i am sure you are working hard but i also assume that i will be getting a complete rebate for the services i am not getting in the meantime. Basically the system is not currently fit for purpose. How do you disconnect the remote and reset it so i can stop it controlling the tv as well?

Same here. It got me set up. I was able to get onto a film and then it stopped dead. I cant even turn the box on any more

After having Sky Stream for just over 2 hours. Fixed the remote by putting in new batteries. 
Can the back light be switched off?

I changed the batteries....the remote is completely dead and unresponsive. A comment from sky would be useful
