I believe it would quell the anger if Sky made some of concerted effort to inform their many subscibers explaining exactly what the problem is and what they are doing about it, coming from a senior member of the Sky management team and communicated to their subscribers by e-mail or text message or letter not just on this forum which many may not be aware of. It is not as if this problem for many is a temporary problem it has been going on for several weeks. Is it a coincidence that most of the problems occured after the last Q180 update and about the same time Sky Glass went live. Someone, somewhere messed something up big time.

@mike1944 I was thinking exactly the same, as it's all started since the launch... interesting

Well, adding my name to the list.
We have two minis as well. One of them was in use whilst this problem was taking place on the main box. My partner just switched that box off as her daughter left the room and bingo, Downton Abbey is now Downtonloading 🙂
Personally, I am not convinced that this solved the problem, as the other mini is still on. It does lead me to wonder though, if a mini is watching a recording from the main, could that cause the main to have a problem downloading?

I believe they may have partially solved this problem for a few customers like myself who are now able to download from Catch-Up and On Demand with no problems except it is just slow. It is strange that there are some getting "failed" downloads and this cannot just be random, somewhere there is a common denominator that is causing this. Saying that though there a a great many posts on here with SkyQ customers with a large variety of other problems affecting not just the odd customers but very many about the same thing. SkyQ appears to have been messed up big time in recent weeks. Sky must remember they can only take their customers so far with problems and then they will just up sticks and leave, especially if Sky has any plans to up their prices once again, which never appears to be problem for Sky in any way.

I am sending daily emails to inform Sky is still not working. It's getting more and more frustrating and nothing really coming back from Sky apart from we know about the issue. It's been about 5 months if I am right

And what is so weird is that my single Sky Q box in London downloads every time and super fast too in HD. So why not in Somerset ? Do they have regionally based servers ?

@Harbord Is the main Sky Q box the same in both places? Same version, same software, same setup (Wi-Fi or wired) same broadband provider and type of broadband?

@Super+Anthony 5 months, have you done a typo as this thread only started 29/11/2021 and you yourself stated a few posts up you agreed in a reply to Mike1944 that you agree with his thoughts that it only started when Q180 was released Q180 hasn't been around for 5 months

@Laing1 Sorry a typo error, my issues started October, but it's still not good enough. They ought to be faster on sorting this issue out. It's ok for people if it's working but there are plenty of others who are not getting the right programmes and downloads etc

@Super+Anthony I agree with you but also if your problem started in October it can't have anything to do with the Q180 firmware which was released in mid to late November so wonder if your problem has nothing to do with this current problem. Just a thought as your seem to have started long before this problem did.
You also have to bear in mind that if this is a software problem then Sky have to replicate the problem Diagnose whats cuasing it re-write the software test it and then release the update so a lengthy procedure which with the Christmas period slowed everything down

Our problem with downloading started at least as far back as October but my sense is months before that. I am checking hardware/software in London (where all works well) with the Somerset setup (where downloads hardly ever work) and will report back with differences which may shine a light.

@Laing1 It's still not good enough the time is taking. Sky far too often being out things without testing them properly. Also there is no sign for any credits back to people affected

"Let's look at the facts eh @Super+Anthony . Before the announcement on 31/12 that a fix had been implemented, there were dozens of complaints every day about download issues. Since then, there have been half a dozen people in total including yourself who have some sort of download issue (not necessarily related to the original 'networking issue')
That doesn't really suggest 'nothing has been fixed' does it.
Hope you get your issue sorted though.

@Super+Anthony none of the fixes Sky have to introduce are quick for the reasons in my previous post. First they have to replicate the problem Diagnose whats causing it re-write the software test it and then release the update. Not something that can be done over night and considering this thread was only started 29/11/2021. You should be well aware of the times involved as you are a regular to the forums and due to other problems Sky have had to sort out and you have commented on
So in your opinion what sort of figure are you thinking off for beeing credited for the problems you have had ? bearing in mind you have said you can download but you have problems on some downloads

They may already do this, but there musty be enough people on this community to enable them to get every configuration of Sky, Broadband, etc to allow them to properly test updates before they are released into the wild?
