Now.. kindly drop it, unmless you discover something to help those of us still having issues
@mark+J+Smyth that post was made by me so I've no idea why you keep attacking @Laing1
The only point I was making was that whatever Sky had done at the end of 2021, did resolve the issue for a lot of people (but not all). If that in some way offended you, then I apologise.
The issue is clearly not resolved for some and a poster suggested starting a new thread for those people, which I think is a Good idea
@Doc5907 thank you

Really ?
You think it is a 'good idea' to start a new thread when the issue is NOT solved ?
'OK'
Honestly, if you no longer have the issue why are you commenting ? (

My 'apology' takesthe form of apologising for a typo .. 1748
Now, if you would kindly deal with your need to annoy those still inflicted , that would be great (

Yes, because anyone having problems downloading at the moment are affected by a different bug to the one this thread was started for. Sky have made changes to fix the root cause of that problem and have confirmed it has worked.
However, anyone still getting errors when downloading is affected by a different issue, so it makes sense for it to be discussed in a separate thread.

Er NO, pls read :
1/ the title of this thread ... "SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable"
2/ The issue is NOT resolved
Consequently those who STILL have the issue are wondering why you would try to suggest otherwise (

@mark+J+Smyth you just can't admit you were wrong can you ? how 1726 can be a typo for 1748 I have no idea and now I can see where you got supervisor from seeing as the author is a superuser
My post 1748 was asking if the 5 months was a typo as the person in question had stated 5 months but also stated they thought it may have been the firmware Q180 which was only released in November and further down the person in question admitted it was a typo

The root cause of the problem which affected the opening poster has been fixed.
Any problems some people are having now with downloads has a different cause, so should be in a separate thread. so Sky can capture any relevant details from users who are still affected by it.

@rscott can you enlighten us as to what the different cause may be?

Sky haven't disclosed the details of the current issue affecting some customers, but they did fix a separate one several days ago, which was affecting a much larger group.

@rscott thanks for that, I will try downloading a couple of Sky catch up channels over the weekend to see if my own issue has been resolved.
Wouldn't it be nice if Sky let its customers know what was going on directly so that we didn't have to spend time searching for answers? Even if its just a general statement to us all, afetr all its not as if they don't know who their customers in the UK are and how to contact them all!

Agree. Still trying to download Spring Tide from STV. Sky box managed to download several episodes but simply refuses to download the remainder. Just is not logical. I wonder whether Sky has limited server capacity and prioritises people using Sky Broadband ? We have to use another provider as Sky offers a pitiful bandwidth at my address as we are 'connected directly to the exchange' - words you never want to hear. Our broadband is transmitted from the top of a cathedral tower and works well.

@Harbord there were reports that this was happening to some Sky Broadband users as well but not heard if this has been sorted for them when Sky put the fix in that sorted the problem for some. It would be interesting to know
