EE-Hub-5SDr

been playing up for week or so.
I'm happy to wait for the fix, but when I consider how much I pay each month. 🤔

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Same here. Getting silly now. Managed to watch first 3 episodes but the fourth gets so far in then stops. It's not the first time I've had this problem.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Quick fix Sky -- reinstall Q160 version that worked OK for many months. You messed up Q170 for some of us so you quickly reverted back to Q160, then we have this wonderful Q180 that is obviousy a disaster for many. So the answer must be go back to version Q160.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

For me Q170 and Q180 have been perfectly fine, this issue for me has only been for 2 - 3 days.

So I don't think it has anything whatsoever to do with the firmware.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

When will sky be proactive in telling their customers what is going on?

i think this is worth getting traction on social media to add pressure for the compensation.

OK, just spoke with Sky and they have admitted they have what he called "a state wide issue" with Sky on demand through third party ISP's (not just BT, but as BT are the biggest most of the calls are coming from BT customers). He said they are working on it to roll out a fix but he has not update as to progress right now but did acknowldge this is affecting lots of customers and therefore has a high priority. He mentioned the DNS changes to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 but did acknowledge this is a "work around" and would work for everyone or even if it did it would only be temporary.....

He got me to repair my viewing card and then resent the signals to my box as he said that has worked for a couple of customers...but I need to give it 2-4 hours to see if it makes any difference...it may not. Will report back either way...

In short, they recognise the problem and are working on it...didn't ask about compensation, they have it on my account this hasn't been working since the 29th so once this is resolved (fingers crossed) I will then push for something....

I'm with a third party ISP using a TP-Link router. Before reading of this problem, I had the DNS set to 8.8.8.8 and did change to 1.1.1.1.So when I read about this, I was using 1.1.1.1. My setup works.

@LGUser the DNS change may have worked for you but it didn't for me and many others in this thread.

Sky accept there is an issue, let's not muddy the waters....

I originally didn't use a thrid party DNS and I was working well. I downloaded quite a bit of content when a swapped boxes to a v3 2TB UHD/HDR box. The reason I switched to a third party DNS was due to a bug in the router and passthrough. I was having trouble with the printer printing more then once before the printer was not found and a problem with Sky Go finding the box. The fix I found was to use a thrid party DNS in the router. Once I put in 8.8.8.8, the problems went away. I switched to 1.1.1.1 as I wanted to try it. I have 8.8.8.8 as the secondary DNS.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I have been having this download issue since Saturday and I have sky q and bt home hub 5

I have a bt engineer coming tomorrow and I hoped that would be the resolve

reading this it would seem not the case!
how frustrating is this !

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Why would you have a BT egineer out? Unless you have no internet, there really isn't much an engineer can do, expecially if the problem is only isloated to Sky Q.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Because sky told me there was no issue with them and it was my internet provider !

He's coming tomorrow but seems it will be a lot of calls to sky qftrr he's been

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

So basically the Openreach engineer will come out and check your Q box is connected to your home network.

If there was an issue with an ISP not downloading just on Sky Q and your internet works perfectly fine everywhere elsez they would be able to check that from their side, because it would be their systems at fault not your line to your home.

I'd cancel the appointment to avoid paying £80 odd, however much it is these days.

I'll check that tomorrow before the appointment! Thanks

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I have now managed to download 4 Harry Potter films tonight. Some downloaded immediately, some attempts failed after about 5% so I left it about 5 minutes and tried again and it seemed to work.  I haven't tried to download any box sets so can't comment on that but it's progress from last night when. I couldn't download anything.  Just don't know how long this will last.
