SKY GO Desktop App Won't Load/Open

But I found an other way : launch skygo without internet until it's fully open. (i'm on wifi I just had to turn the wifi off then on.

Hi Sky, I cant seem to open sky go on my dell lap top, it was working fine a week ago now it goes to the checking updates screen and then dissapears.

OK, so still no answer nor response from Sky and still no satisfaction on this matter. 

I can open the app and watch TV on my phone, but not on the desktop app. He thinks a Firewall is blocking it, so I turned it off - nothing changed. So what are we to do to watch TV on our laptop? You would think this was simple in 2020, but even Sky doesn't know. 

Anyone? Sky?

Thanks for replying to me. Sadly this does not work. When I click on Sky Go app, this screen appears. This is the trouble I am having.

Try this:

Uninstall the Sky Go app and then go to 'C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming (ensure hidden files/folders are visible) and delete the following folders:

Sky
Sky Go

And if it is present the Cisco folder in App\Data\LocalLow.
Empty your recycle bin.

Reboot your PC and then download and install the Sky Go app again.

mine was working fine untill recently . im not sure what has caused it either a windows update or something sky have done with the app. mine loads fine but it stuck in system tray when i try to open it upto full screen it just does nothing . on a windows 10 pc .

Hi, 

So I fixed both of my issues which were:

Upon loading Sky Go it would in my task bar but the program window would not show. The fixes for my issues were as follows:

1) Started the program but It would not appear on my screen, only at the bottom on the taskbar...

When you've started the program, hover your mouse the Sky Go icon in your TaskBar and when the thumnail appears above, right click on it and select maximise (Windows 10).

2) I got an error code 001  saying there was a connection problem....

I manually added an exception in my firewall settings.

a) Click Start, type 'Firewall' and select Windows Defender Firewall.

b) Top Left of this window, select 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall'

c) Bottom Right, click on 'Allow another app.'

d) Click Browse and Manually navigate to the Sky Go exe file using the 

e) "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Sky\Sky Go\Sky Go.exe" the location of the exe.

d) Add this exe to your list of Firewall exceptions.

e) Check the list and make sure Sky Go is there and it's box is ticked.

Try Sky Go.

Find the option on thr sky go app that gives you the option to join Beta that's how i got mine to work just now
