Re: Remote network problem
I had no wiring required until the V3 box was put in - the V1 was glorious for Wifi, but not so good for HDR (and co-incidentally had a power on/off issue at the same time i discovered this...)

Re: Remote network problem
Yes this does seem to be the issue as most things with adverts fail to download most of the time. Those without adverts work fine. Hopefully someone from Sky will read this and look into it.

Re: Remote network problem
I have the same issue ... Has anyone had an acknowledgement from Sky that this is an issue?
Thanks.

Re: Remote network problem
Any sky engineers who can shed some light on this issue?

Re: Remote network problem
I am that problem tonight with All Creatures Great and Small. Strangely, it happily downloads programmes without adverts. I wonder if it's server load causing an issue. I'm going to reattempt the download late tonight.

Re: Remote network problem
You don't by any chance have a TP-link router or TP-link mesh WiFi system do you? I've briefly swapped out my TP-link router and Deco Mesh WiFi network for a Huawei router and it's now working fine. Early days to fully state it's fault free but I think it could be a compatibility issue between sky and the TP-link products.

Re: Remote network problem
It'll be interesting to see the outcome. The "tp-link" thing is, apparently, something that Sky techs throw right, left and center. After a very deep dive, and loads of Google Translate later, in similar forums for Sky Italia and Germany, similar issue after OS update. Let's see...I, for one, still get this error...

Re: Remote network problem
I do! I'm currently using a TP Link Archer MR600. However, I also have a huawei b535-232. Both 4g routers. Had the same problem with both. I have recently set up an ASUS Zenwifi mesh with the same issue.
Interestingly, I added configuration to block adm.sky.com as had been suggested and All Creatures downloaded no problems. Probably a coincidence but I'm now downloading a number of Taskmasters and I'm not getting any fails.

Re: Remote network problem
I have the exact same routers as you. If I connect the Sky box to my Archer MR600 through a power line connection it seems to be ok. It doesn't like my TP link M5 deco network at all!
The Huawei router seems to work fine although weirdly it's really slow when I connect the sky Q via the power line?! Any ideas why that may be?

Re: Remote network problem
I originally got the 4G router to get better upload speeds but as my sky q was painful slow downloading I thought I'd swap. It made no difference until I connected the sky q box via Ethernet. Now it flies! I used to use a powerline to the sky box upstairs but the sky mini is happily connected wirelessly to the sky q without issue. No idea why that would be a problem on one not the other.

Re: Remote network problem
So is it working ok now on your Archer MR600? I spoke too soon about the Huawei! You're right, it doesn't work either! Just started failing again. I only received it today to try a different router. I will be sending that back to amazon then! 🙄

Re: Remote network problem
Yes, downloading as I type. So certainly not a consistent issue. I had issues with Taskmaster the other night, it it worked eventually but I have just downloaded 5 shows without a fail though. One more queued then Lovecraft Country...

Re: Remote network problem
A bit of an update from my side - persistance does pay off.... More often than not the download fails after the adverts and just before the main programme starts. Each time I try there are different adverts but the same stop point. Occasionally it will start the programme and then fail. What worked better last night was changing the Format to lower resolution. Two or three episodes of Succession downloaded successfully at the lower resolution which is something - not perfect but better than failure. At the higher resolution I find about 1 in 10 or so would succeed.
I'm using Google Mesh for the Wifi but have connected the Sky boxes via 1G TP-Link to boost performance. I'm getting about 600 meg between the router and the Sky boxes and about 150 meg download speed on a load balanced pair of broadband connections - one is Microwave and one is 4G+. At the moment I have rules in place such that Sky is only connected to the Microwave link (from a bit of research which said the 4G+ might be causing this issue.)
Might try and ring Sky VIP support when I have a spare couple of hours to wait on the line...

Re: Remote network problem
@Me123321123 Unless you are using TP link as LAN extenders connected to the mini boxes by ethernet it should not work as the boxes generate their own links on 5Ghz Ch36 which is nothing to do with your home WiFi and you should not be able to connect to it.
Sky uses a couple of servers and it may be your problem is when it changes servers one does not download.
