New Firmware QS012 - support for bluetooth head sets.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

The roll out of QS012 firmware has started with at least one significant change which is a new option on Glass TVs where you can link a Bluetooth audio device via/Settings/Connected Devices/ where a third option Bluetooth device now appears. This should help anyone with a bluetooth hearing aid or headphones and should be independent of the main audio output but I haven't tested that.

Only had a quick check but I cannot see any other changes including the promised picture improvements or  changes to the Playlist but they could well be in the firmware but not activated.

If Sky follow normal roll out plan around 5% of units will have updated another small batch will update the following week then the whole fleet of both Stream pucks and Glass TVs within a couple of weeks or so.

You will know when it completes which will be when @Anonymous finally has the new firmware.

Looks like the programme info bars have had subtle changes too. The info now floats in a box rather than the full width of the screen, same with the watch from start prompt.

Also the play / pause bar has  had a slight refresh with cleaner icons.

Re: New Firmware QS012 - support for bluetooth head sets.

On this week now also appears underneath available episodes rather than being a separate tab. So looks like this update provides quite a few cosmetic changes rather than 'big features'

You won't be able to force yet as it's a new release.  It'll soon be here for all.

@Jporch316 went from QS011.07 to QS012. There are a number of changes one is a slightly longer times to  lock a stream. It maybe that has been lengthened to improve reliability. It is probable 11.08baddres a specific issue which is also dealt with in QS012 but that is a guess.
