@jamo172  Please provide a little more detail if you able. Make / Model / software version of panel would be a real help. Are you aware of any other reports on Philips panels? - i like to have my eyes everwhere but sometimes its not possible.

@skerly the model number is 70PUS7555/12 the software version is TPN206E-203.002.143.031. I know there is nothing wrong with the TV as when I watch Netflix or Amazon prime through the app installed on the TV HDR programing is perfect, however if I watch HDR through my sky box it always loses the signal without fail

Thanks Jamo, that sort of detail really helps... and anyone else following this thread, TV make and model are the very basics,, we can quickly work out if there is a trend here.

 

Looking at trends, I am finding it hard to find anyone else with this issue on a Philips TV, checked various AV communities, some deep googling and the Philips forums, there are some nasty audio issues on there but no HDR/SDR issues,

I am sure you already know, but there is however a firmware update for that panel on the support pages dated 8th September 2021 it has some general stability issue updates etc.. worth updating to that as a first port of call.

 We have a good realtionship with the guys and girls ar philips so I will try and track down a similar panel and test here ./ and or with Philips directly.

 

Can i ask, have you raised this with Philips directly or just here on the SKY  community?

 

Regarding your comments around the TV HDR apps vs the Q box, its very hard to draw the right conclusion without another HDR device connected over HDMI. (intrenal apps really are a different beast) . do you have an Xbox S/X or Ps5, apple stick, blue ray .. do they have any issues?

 

Would you be able to tell me the following  (in fact anyone having this issue please provide similar detail including makes and models or TV )

 

1) what is the type of content you are watching when this occurs

 - a ) SKY video  on demand (movies and documentaries and such like)

 - b) Apps - netflix, amazon prime, i player etc - if so which one

 - c) Live linear sports (Football ./ cricket etc)

 

2) please make a note of the event name and time of showing and note here

 

3) Set Top Box Type, external or internal power supply?

 

4) reproducibility, do you see the issue on every event you watch?, or maybe once a week, one a month

 

 

I  really  appreciate your help, i have seen a few/ not many mind comments around this and would really like to help understand the issue.

@Darren+Talbot I think they are looking into whats causing it and we're saying was it my TV, but as I said only happens when I use sky HDR programs, I have no trouble with Netflix and Amazon Dolby vision when I watch through the installed apps on my TV and to be fair I find Dolby vision better than HDR.

The external apps are better and have full support yes, but when you're trying to watch a sky movie or live sport you're knackered!

Can I also add I have also had HDR drop out,  noticed it watching Wolfe the other night. I have a Sony Bravia XH81 2021 model.

My picture reverts back to sd when watching football in hdr/hlg This happens two or three times Each game I have LG OLED E9  latest firmware 5-10-25 , sky q v3 Q170 , skysupdrfast broadband & Hdmi 2.1 lead

@Zinc+alloy  no luck here I'm afraid been watching Netflix today and dropped out twice, so annoying wish Sky would sort once and for all so we can start enjoying what we are paying for.

Please also list what versionfirmware your TV has installed.

It also happens on Netflix via SkyQ watching Midnight Mass the other night.
