Epic subwoofer … sonic boom

Does one have to turn the subwoofer on?

the bass is lacking ... even when watching a UHD / HDR film

am I missing something ?

Personally I think that particular advert is bordering on being a case for the ASA (although Sky might claim it falls into the category where the audience is supposed to recognise it's fantasy).  The dimensions of the Glass television enclosure should suggest an inherent limitation on bass reproduction: it's physics, not magic.

One of the reasons I moved the glass upstairs and got a Sonos beam gen 2 for the oled LG downstairs via the puck.

The glass is nowhere near the Sonos .

So how do I test it.?

Plenty of atmos tests on YouTube that will help you. 🤙

You could try YouTube, but there's no guarantee that Glass would be compatible with any particular test.

You tube only does 2 channel stereo sound as far as I know...at least even the so called Atmos tests only show as 2 channel pcm on my NAD receiver....happy to be corrected though😉

Re: Epic subwoofer … sonic boom

I'm Just trying to hear any evidence of a subwoofer

ive come from sky Q with a soundbar and powered subwoofer

The new glass just seems to lack any "balls" in the bass department

Contemplate the physical dimensions (and location, and power draw) of that subwoofer enclosure, and contrast with the design of the Glass set.

Do you subscribe to Sky Cinema? If so, Hacksaw Ridge has some earth shattering bass (well, on my dual sub system anyway😂😂) at about 66 minutes where the destroyer is pounding the ridge..thereafter a sequence after they have scaled the ridge gives plenty of explosions. Although not Atmos it is 3/2.1 dolby surround (.1 being the sub) and does rock!

PS not sure how Glass works as I still use Q so apologies if the above is not a practical suggestion.

The Spotify app might be a better option for a test: unfortunately on my set this highlights a nasty buzz rather than any substantial bass output.

YouTube DOES NOT carry Dolby Atmos sound, despite what the description of certain videos may claim. It is limited to Stereo 2.0
