As discussed later in the thread, all the channels are still being broadcast within the satellite footprint, but cannot be displayed in or selected from the Sky EPG in RoI as they will not be licensed there after Jan 1st. They can be manually added back onto to both Sky+ and Sky Q boxes by inputting the appropriate details but will not be listed with the rest.

Really this is a great disappointment, will the monthy fee be reduced as we are now getting a lower quality serivce
Give me back the radio channels

The answer is on page 1 (as they often are). Think of finding it as a kind of treasure hunt.

'Territory' in broadcasting/licensing terminology. It's absolutely a country, which is where the whole issue arises....

It's no more than a financial decision by sky.
And you still haven't come up with any reason why that would be the case.

They'll be gone from Virgin by the end of the year.
None of us have been given any information about this from Sky - we just understand the legal situation with Brexit, something the broadcasters have also been aware of for at least 2 years.
As for your last comment about it being a financial decision - that makes absolutely no sense. Sky get paid by these companies for providing an EPG slot, so if the channels get removed, their revenue falls.

@rscott No they won't be gone 😂😂
you're clearly promoted read each other's statements it's word for word.
you don't work for sky, they make that clear why they invite you to be an Oracle. I've actually gone and inquired about it.
Sky makes money for selling the slot as I've already told you a lot of these channels especially the radio stations would have been there from early on and were probably free slots or a small fee, If a channel is costing more to service than it's making then that's a loss it's not profit business 101

Sky make money every year by charging a fee for providing the EPG slot. If that slot isn't occupied, then they don't get that revenue. So unless another channel starts using that slot, Sky's revenue will have fallen.
They also won't take ownership of those slots on the guide automatically - they're still owned by the previous users who can sell them to anyone they wish.

Time to end my subscription with Sky. 75% of the music channels have vanished. Paying too much for continuously repeated shows over and over again and nothing in return for 20+ years of custom.

The music channels were never part of your subscription - they're all free to air.

The channels are still available, but as described endlessly above, they just can't be listed in the Sky EPG in Eire.
