Providing you're not 'in contract' you can cancel your tv service by calling to give the 31 days notice required.

It won't, I'm afraid., because you're billed as normal during your notice period,  as though you hadn't cancelled. Sky will, of course, refund the inevitable overpayment back to the date your tv service actually ended.

@jacky+57

Bills are generated 14 days before your payment date so roughly half way through your notice period and at this point you'll still be a paying customer. Leave the payment method live otherwise you'll have problems. Any reimbursement for overpayment should be completed in about 6 weeks from your last day of connection.

Assuming your normal payment date is 4th monthly, if you cancel on 3rd July, your final bill will be produced during your notice period on 21 July.

Re: sky tv and broadband/phone package

hi, thank you for your swift reply. I have just talked to sky and canceled my tv package, they now say as on the 4 th july  i pay £121 then on 29th july I have to pay another £115  , this is discracful and one short of stealing money from there customers, they then said my broadband bill will be £60plus per month, I can get the same service for£34-99 from BT, (I have checked this out with them). no wonder people are leaving SKY in droves every day.

The BT deal you're seeing will be as a new customer. You aren't a new Sky customer so it's very unlikely you'd receive a renewal offer near that price.

All providers do it.

Better discounts are offered to new customers as an incentive for them to join.

If you choose to jump ship and go with another provider then in 18/24 months you'll be in the same position with that provider and if you want you'll be able to return to Sky as a new customer.

Just as BT and many other providers do, I'm afraid.
